In all honesty, if I had to pick a favorite C4 (which is really what this thread is about since deciding what is best is impossible... ie, one can only opine what they like best)... I would say... this:

As cool as the ZR1s are... I think I would rather have a GS. And if I ever buy another C4 (not to replace my 88, but to keep it company) it will probably be one of these. Despite what I said earlier about preferring the styling of the earlier cars... that blue/white paint and LT4 trump all... to me this is the best C4.

I agree. I will own an LT4 soon.

I like the haughty *** end of my 1989 C4. But it is not without its issues. If I had it to do all over again, I would try and find one without 160k miles on it, like mine. But even at those many miles, the engine is still running strong.

Magna-Flow. It's just straight pipes after the cat, no mufflers.

If I didn't have my 90 ZR-1 I would have a callaway or a 91. Like the Callaways and if I was to go base, It would be a 91 because of the newer body style and interior with the L98. But that TPI intake would have to go. Can deal with the older interior and body for the Callaway though.

I did have a 87 that saw the back of a tow truck too many times for me. Mostly due to VAT issues. Once I got that disabled I was stranded less.
Fun car when it was running but that car was just a pain. My 90 ZR-1 has yet to leave me stranded. Been a very reliable car. Sometimes you just get a lemon.

As others have said, find the best one you can afford.

Because if you can sneak it out of the museum, it's worth a fortune
