Now I'm told, because of the things I mentioned, my mechanic says its a ZR1. What do I know the last Vette I owned was 20 years ago (1978) and the one before that was 25 years ago (64 Roadster). No ZR-1 was built in 1985, and if your mechanic thinks an L98 is an LT5 run away from him as fast as you can.

Wow, exactly what I had in mind. I'd be curious to know where to find those panels.
So I won an auction for a 1990 corvette and after cross referencing the VIN with production that year I guess I have more questions than before....what engine is this? Base or ZR1? Also its an automatic so it just didn't match up with the options from GM.
I'm just learning about this stuff so thank you for your patience
