mmmmkay.

But anyways, if you want a good example of a widebody C4 conversion to a car that is not a ZR-1, look at Bill Boudreau's 89 vette with ZR1-1 body panels powered by a Camaro LS1.

Ok your right. Not only may my mechanic need help but I know I do. When I bought the Vette the seller said it was a LT1 and you guys sat me straight, thank you. Now I'm told, because of the things I mentioned, my mechanic says its a ZR1. What do I know the last Vette I owned was 20 years ago (1978) and the one before that was 25 years ago (64 Roadster). So, tell me why my mechanic needs help.

No ZR-1 was built in 1985, and if your mechanic thinks an L98 is an LT5 run away from him as fast as you can.

Does your L98 look like this???

Wow, exactly what I had in mind. I'd be curious to know where to find those panels.

Bill's car was converted back in the 90s when parts were available from GM. Now, you need to buy a wrecked ZR-1 or parts from a wrecked ZR-1.

Rear bumper - $2000
Quarter Panels - $1000 each
Doors - $500+ each
Bumper moldings - $500+
Rocker panels - $300+
License plate filler - $100
High mount stop lamp assembly - $100+

So, you spend $5000 in parts alone, plus labor of installation, plus paint, and you still have a base C4. Smart idea!

Default Hey guys inquiring about my Corvette

So I won an auction for a 1990 corvette and after cross referencing the VIN with production that year I guess I have more questions than before....what engine is this? Base or ZR1? Also its an automatic so it just didn't match up with the options from GM.
I'm just learning about this stuff so thank you for your patience

Base L98.

The engine plate on the cup holder door is incorrect.
