Hemmings Magazine on C4 values.......
sup fellas, buddy of mine told me about a article on the c4's and how their value is going down. I'm like most of you guys, i don't care i bought it to drive it and with this article maybe find a sweet deal on another one. LMAO! but if someone could post a link to the article I'd appreciate it.

hemmings article
I read that article and thought it was lame. It lumped all C4s into one generic group. It was much too general to be of any use regarding prices/values, IMHO. Larry

It must be an old article. Crying has been going on in this forum for years about values going down. Usually from the same crybabies. Maybe one day they'll figure out that there aren't many cars at all that are appreaciating in value much these days. Why should our C4's be any different? Keep it nice and take care of it. You will always get a better selling price for one that stands out from all the other ones if you decide to sell it.

Old news. The C4 value has been dropping for few years and once the C7 comes down it may go even lower. Many C6 owners are awaiting for the C7 to come out to sell their Vettes. It will be a buyers market for few years to come.

I don't think the C7 arrival will have anything at all to do with values of C4's or any Corvette for that matter. C4's , C5's, and C6's are what they are. People buy the one they want or can afford. Most C6 owners who would sell their C6 when the new C7 comes out usually lease their cars anyway. How many people (real owners, not leasors) today can really afford to sell a two or three year old Vette and buy a new one each time a new one comes out just because they have to have the latest and greatest? Not many I'll bet.

The article should read about the value of all Corvette generations going down from the one you drive new off the lot to C1s, sparing the rare or historically significant models. Prices are down, period. When your at the bottom you don't have far to fall.

Who cares?
If a $5000 Chevy not appreciating keeps one awake at night they got other problems going on.

Why do you think it's easier to restore a C2 than to restore a mid 70s C3? Think about it.

I disagree it is just as easy to restore a C3 as it is to restore a C2 parts are available for both at about the same prices... the price to restore either is going to be darn close to the same price as well as time spent...
The only difference between them and the newer generations is "computers" and that alone is enough to make me never to even think about rebuilding/restoring a C4 or newer..As A senior Citizen I admit I know NOTHING about computers except how to work one .
