I used the Corvette Central eliminators on my 94. At first I thought they were quite loud, but I got used to it quickly. I drove it about 45k miles like that and really liked it. I sold that car last year and I really miss the sound. It has a great low pitch rumble at idle and low throttle, but wakes up and is pretty loud when you put your foot into it. It is easy to keep it from being obnoxious when you want to if you take it easy.

If you get the Corvette Central with the black LT1 tips (which I recommend) take some time and strip their paint and redo it. Otherwise it surface rusts fairly quickly. I daily drove mine year round including some winter salt, so it was probably worst case.

Liking a lot of these ideas... Would a cam help out on the sound? If so, what kind/size?

When I bought mine couple years ago it had stock exhaust except for borla mufflers sounded good. I put hooker ceramic coated shorty headers on sounds awesome now. Only problem I enjoy sound so much I'm always on it you all know how fast 0 to 60 mph is or how soon 100 mph
Comes when on expressway. No tickets yet just warnings. The cops around here like a pretty vett.

Shorty headers do not do anything for our cars as they came with short headers

I have same color interior. Part of the reason I bought it. I live in G.R. MI. Have yet to see won with red interior.

I like the sound of that cam. Could you tell me what kind, some specs, and where you got it and the price. I would like to do a cam, muffler eliminators, and maybe a cold air intake.

You already have a cold air intake - it comes directly from under the nose of your car.
Have those mufflers off for 50 bucks.
The only reason not to put longtubes on is having to smog in Cali ...

I ditched the mufflers on my 85 L98 in favor of a Walker rear y-pipe with crossover pipe and baffled muffler eliminators from Allen's Exhaust. It sounds quiet at idle and throaty when you get on it, almost like a 60's Vette with side pipes. Its definitely one of the cheaper and easier ways to go.

Mine is straight pipe all the way back then goes into a 3in. SS straight pipe like a borla. It sounds great. Then in 6th gear on the highway you can carry on a conversation like normal. And thats with the top up or down. Now if you want to play it gets a little loud, in a nice way. After that change was done it seems to have better response.

Default 1996 CE Vert LT1

Definitely Magnaflow catback. Put on the 3 inch stainless and never looked back. The sound is amazingly sweet....try it.....it's more than worth it.

Default More throaty sound

I've got a 92 LT1. Magnaflow front to back ,,,, headers cats mufflers, Sounds Awesome !!! loud enough from outside to turn heads but quiet enough inside you can talk fine.
Besides, if you decide to do engine work like cam etc. it would all be wasted with a stock exhaust that wont let your engine breath.
