Top 10 Most Stolen Corvettes Since '81

Just seen a report, most cars stolen have their keys in them.
Now if you want to protect your car to some degree, install a secret inline switch with the fuel pump power. I have done this concept for more than 30 years.
Carjacking and a criminal act in progress are grounds to protect your property and yourself in Florida. I always like walking back to my car prepared.
Other than that they will have to come with a tow truck.

Nothing beats a well crafted secret disable switch. Except for the tow truck of course.
I like that I can keep the keys in the ignition in the garage but alas nobody but I can start it.
In case of theft we owners better have one of the following:
1. Agreed value on your insurance policy to cover the cars full value
2. Some form of tracking system to get your ride back.
3. Both, if your cars nice and has real value or you live in a high risk area

Those stats are completely misleading, 84's were produced longer than other model years since no '83. If half of them were stolen in 83 and half in 84 then it would be way down the list. Just throwing out numbers by model year are pretty meaningless. How do you know there weren't more '79's stolen??? There were more made, but the study only started counting thefts in '81.
I would like to see more data, time phased preferably. Do thefts correlate to the economy? Why the huge jump starting with the 63's? Collector prices up for those? Are total car thefts of all kinds in each year up/down in correlation? Which years had most reliable alarm systems? Pretty lazy reporting in that article in my opinion...
