Default When do i change the air filter on an 87 vette?

I know this is an amateur question.

I have an 87 vette with only 17k mikes on it. i doubt that the air filter has ever been replaced and I'm wondering if it needs replacing. i live in FL, in a mildly dusty area with lots of pollen but the car is always garaged. i checked the manual but it doesn't give any info on it. any suggestions? I'm thinking of getting a K&N filter and eliminating the problem. thanks!!

It's an air filter for God's sake, just change it. Also, just because you install a K&N, that will not eliminate your problem, you still have to clean a K&N filter

A K&N filter will last longer in terms of its overall life, but if you add the cost of the filter and the cleaning kit together, you can buy a bunch of Fram filters or other parts store brand.

Changing a regular paper air filter once a year would probably cheaper and just as effective.

You could always just move to a less dusty area.

I change mine every spring. I would never install anything on my cars that was made by Fram.

With only 17k miles, I'd stick it in a Car Capsule storage bag for preservation.

There have been plenty of reports about fram oil filters failing. That being said, their air filters work great, I've used them in both my vettes for 4 years
