i have bf goodrich g forces and how can i determine if they're runflats or not? certain markings? i'm thinking of changing them out for either f1s or pilots. can anyone give me opinions (positive or negative) on these choices. thanks.

I'm not 100% sure on this, but I thought run flats had the letters "EMT" on the side wall someplace?
I can give you an opinion of the Good Year GS-D3.....if you can put up with the ungodly noise they make on a concrete road....get them as you'll be amazed how they grip in the wet! Like grim death. Oh, and they're fairly good in the dry too. Maybe a little vague at first on turn in, but that is not to say they don't have that initial bite on turn in. It's just the feel belies the grip and the response. Another thing, when they get hot, I mean smell them in the driver's seat hot....they're ready! They take a lot of heat to get that greasy feeling, and I haven't found that temp yet on the street...okay, I don't do HPDE's so maybe I'm not the best judge on when they get that greasy feeling and give up on you. Oh, and I forgot this, G/Yr says 40* is about the break point and it's true. They do not like cold weather below 40* so you have to dial it back some. I'm on my second set and about to get my third.

I don't believe runflats handle any better than other tires, per se (I could be wrong), I am pretty sure the ride is harsher and not great for DD driving. I'm personally not sure why you would want to pay a premium for runflats when you have a spare and cheaper tires will handle just as well.

Runflats do not handle as good or ride as good as as do non-EMT tires.
