Default Latest Update on Spoliers

Hello Everyone,

Hydro, Boxcar, and 92Polo have reached an agreement, and the spoilers will be ordered soon. Hydro will begin his process of mold making.

I e-mailed CHD (Italian Fabricator) asking the question about fit and finish on the 91-96 model, because his pictures show the older version (84-90 square end). He has not replied back yet. That is what I'm waiting on.

All buyers be sure to PM Hydro with your order if you have not, i.e.…front, rear, both and year of car. I spoke with Hydro and he has not figured out the price just yet. Prices soon to come….stand by

I’m not committing Hydro to anything, but if you go to his website you can see the different colors he may or may not offer. That is completely up to Hydro. http://www.americanhydrocarbon.com/ Hydro has stated he will offer carbon fiber, fiberglass, and ready to paint.

Anyone, to include myself, who track their C4s and want something special that will be strictly between Hydro and yourself. I’m committed to the bigger picture of trying to meet everyone's expectations on fit and finish.

I will keep everyone posted, at this thread, as new information comes in. I hope I speak for everyone interested, we proud C4 owners are more interested in not rushing this, that we want a quality fit and finish. That is Hydro, Boxcar and 92Polo’s target….quality…not speed.

Thanks to everyone for working as a team, soon we will all be sporting the sexist new spoilers on our sleds, made in the USA, while our brethren stand stunned.

I would offer that we get the word out to none forum brothers thou, the larger the order for Hydro, the better the price for everyone. But, pricing is completely Hydro's decission.

I cannot speak for Hydro, but I believe he will use 2’’ industrial Velcro. He has pictures in this thread and, he said, “This spoiler will be offered in Carbon Fiber, Fiberglass and Painted. I have a similar one on my C5 and it is attached with 2" industrial strength Velcro. You can push the car with it. I have a similar one on my C5 (pic is in this thread). I tested the Velcro at 120, 130 and 140 mph. This thing will never come off unless you want to take it off and then you better have help to pull it off.”
So, for now that will be the standard we will use, again, I cannot speak for Hydro.

If my thinking is correct you track your Vette and are interested in a taller version with a steeper rake 55 degrees. I also track my Vette, and if the Velcro holds like he says, then I can get two, one for tracking, and one for styling.

I have Polo92 bringing his car up for a trial fit of both the splitter and rear spoiler at that time we will determine the best attachment method.

As far as colored carbon goes any colr can be hod with the hydrocarbon design, so that gives you four options.

1. Carbon Fiber
2. Fiberglass unpainted
3. Body Color Match or Custom Color Match
4. Any color Hydrocarbon

Carbon or fiberglass? Pricing has not been established as the parts are not built yet.

Depending on actual price, I'm interested in the rear spoiler for sure.
