car wont start bad fuel pump ?
I have a 86 corvette about a week ago the car started to act up now it wont start. When I turn the key the car starts then stalls out. If I give it gas when starting the car it will stay running until I let off of the
gas pedal. Could my fuel pump be bad or a clogged fuel filter. I haven't changed the fuel filter in over 7 years and I have never changed the fuel pump. The car has about 142,000 miles on it. Any help would be great..

Check your fuel pressure first. It wouldn't hurt to change your fuel filter either. It could be lots of things, when is the last time you tuned her up? Plugs, wires, rotor and cap? Could be bad fuel injectors too!

I just did wires, plugs and cap and rotor a couple of months ago. When the car is running it runs strong. I guess I will disconnect the fuel line and start the car to see if fuel pumps out. Then I will have a better idea of what could be wrong...

Have you checked spark quality yet? I'd check fuel pressure as suggested, spark quality (blue flame), clean the throttle body and the IAC housing, check timing, reset the IAC, and most certainly send the injectors out for cleaning and testing or just dump them for a new set of Bosch III injectors from FIC.

A bad IAC could also have the same symptoms. If your fuel system checks out, have a look at the IAC.
