DRL in Canadia vettes
Does anyone know if the DRL module (or whatever its called) used in Canadian Vettes can be adapted to a US Vette? Generally GM invariably uses only one wiring harness regardless of option and accessories. It's much less expensive than having a different harness for every car just to match it's options, etc. So I'm thinking the wiring is already in my '94 coupe. Are there any units available out there?
And, what does the light sensor in the defrost vent do since US Vettes neither have DRLs nor auto on headlights?
John

I have heard of some people REMOVING the DRLs in their C4's in the past, so the modules are out there.
I believe the sensor you speak of is the sun-load sensor for the C68 climate control system.

In '94 T61 DRL - the IP harness carries a different part number. Were there no differences there wouldn't be service parts for both. DRL's are most frequently "defeated". If you wanted DRL's there would be many ways to accomplish this manually with quite straight forward wiring.
Most years that offered DRL's also used a different forward lamp harness. Doesn't seem to be the case in '94 or I just overlooked it being in a hurry.

The sensor in the center defrost vent is the sun-load sensor for the C68 climate control system.
The light sensor for the auto headlamp is on the top of the dash right ahead of the steering Wheel and can be defeated with this... http://corvettegadgetman.com/products6.html
Sorry,no info on how to completely remove the daytime running light...

That's different but totally believable. Thinking backGM wasn't the only one that (apparently) used one harness in all cars. I had a '72 Datsun 240Z that I replaced the original anemic engine (carbureted) in with one from a '78 (fuel injected) that was bored and blueprinted among other things. Didn't have to replace the wiring harness as European Zs (called Fairlady)were fuelies in '72. Ah well ...Thanks for the info.

This CorvetteCentral kit turns on front "turn lamps" for use as DRL and also has the control feature for day/night.

Search the part # 494087 for CC kit!
This is the more popular kit for the Canadian market for adding. Is it the same? I'd assume it's very similar. You'll need to use the menu and find C4 DRL, it doen't seem to want to let me copy a direct link:

Search DRL-1C4 for the weber product.
The nuisance with the factory T61 is it "rotates" the headlamps to the up position when it's left functional. There seem to be requirements that differ between the Provinces is Canada as to what is considered DRL and the age of the vehicle it's required on.
