Default weather strip adhesive

The rubber stribbing on the back window hatch has come loose along the side and top area. Can it be glued down with any adhesive or do I need a special glue?

Mine did not need any adhesive at all. I agree with Cruisinfanatic post some pictures so we can see how it is messed up.

Just replaced all the weather strip on my C4. Used zero adhesive on the rear hatch. New rubber fit perfectly. (Bought from Willcox, got a 20% discount, free shipping)

Where I used adhesive on any weatherstripping I only used black silicone sealer, it acts as a sealer and an adhesive.

Mostly around the windshield and door header where leaks occur, is where it is needed.

If you look at the service manual it will show you where it is needed, but common sense will tell you anywhere water can get in it will.
