I cannot find the wrench to remove the hard top on my 87 C4. I have looked on line and all I find are Targa top wrenches, that is a torx bit, this one looks similar to a tamper proof torx but not quite. Anyone know where to buy one?

Assuming your talking about a C4 hardtop on a convertible.

Believe it or not - if you're looking for the flat 8mm combination wrench - Sears has one that is almost identical to the factory supplied tool. You need this small flat wrench to torque the hard-to-reach rear hardtop bolts. If that's the case you need this one and the torx wrench to install/remove the hardtop.

I bought this wrench, it will take the front 2 screws out, but the rear screws are different, they are similar to a torx but have a pin in the middle like a tamper proof torx but not the same design as a torx.....

The standard rear targa torx bolts on the corvette do not have the tamper proof pin in the center, you will need a tamper proof Torx bit and when you have removed them throw them out and get these correct ones. Then you can use the wrench.

I brought one of these after my OEM one ended up missing after a trip to the corvette shop. nobody knows what happened to it. yeah right. but the one on ebay is a nice unit well made
