Yesterday actually, Down to one bar on the gas gauge, stopped to get gas and the pump was super slow at about 5 gallons in 10 minutes so stopped at 5 gallons even. Gauge up the 1/2. LOL. Now, I know, at 1/2 tank on the gauge, I have 5 gallons before getting to 1 bar. The reserve light comes on at 2 bars. Today, I'll find out how much to Full on the Gauge and Full in the tank. ;-)

For the fuel gauge thing, i dunno if will help or not, but i gave my fuel pump it's own ground by attaching a ground strap to one of the sender bolts and bolding the other end directly to the frame.

On my 84 there is a single tiny ground wire for all 4 tail lights that is also shared with the pump.

I found the issue after upgrading my fuel pump and then having some gremlins show their face.

I also cleaned the contacts for the sending unit while i had the pump assy out of the tank.

And my 84 has some pretty poor fuel baffles, when i hit about 1/2 to 1/4 tank i start stalling if i hit the corners to hard.

Diagnosed loss of all blower speeds except HIGH on my '86 coupe. Easier than I dared hope. High Blower Relay has failed.

$10.99 from oReilly Auto; BWD w/ a lifetime warranty vs $25.00 for the relay from Keen Parts.

Ken,

How was your season this year? It is great to see a C4 again competing nationally after the cars are over 20 years old.

Hi Perry:

Not too shabby. I learned that a lot and the car is getting a lot better. I'm still trying to learn the Rival S tires. I find myself not pushing it harder. At the last AAS my times were about .5 second ahead but, I made a cone dance itself out of the box on my two fastest runs. The license plate doesn't help anymore.

This winter I put the car on another diet to shed some more pounds since they lowered the minimum weight in CAM-S, and I am making some changes to various settings. I am having Mike re-valve my shocks.

I am hoping that I have the car ready and the weather cooperates for the San Diego CAM event.

The CAM event is the first weekend in March.

My carbon fiber rear bumper with spoiler was painted today.

Slapped on the console performance specs plate, fired her up and let her run for a little while after last weeks single/digit temps, then plugged in the trickle charger and covered her back up until next time.

Default December ride

Been cold and we've had some snow already here in the Hudson Valley NY. But yesterday the weather was nice, roads were clear and my Corvette was calling, so we went for a cruise up in the foothills.
Happy to say my ride is running good and strong. Just turned 15K miles and the car feels brand new. I have to take the good days when I can get em. Long winter ahead. Merry Christmas to all!

The roads have been great, except for Christmas traffic, and I drove mine the past two days. Too bad it's raining today! Merry Christmas from Poughkeepsie.

Finally got actual compression check done, so far so good.
Next is valve inspection, hopefully not so bad.

Cylinder #2 and I have had many many nasty words.
WTF all that junk right in front of spark plug hole? Looking at you, designers.

Checked my diff and put 23 squirts in. Whee.

Nice of federal holiday letting me wrench a bit.

After over a month of waiting for time and some help, we finally yanked the intake off and replaced the lifters to take care of the lifter noise that appeared after I left it sit a week without starting. Number 2 exhaust lifter had some nasty pitting, which was apparently the source of the noise. Replaced it and we are back to 100%..so glad to have the LT4 back.

Got it out a few times this weekend but today was too wet so I detailed it since it was so unseasonably warm +60s.

I was at the garage yesterday putting different wheels/tires on the C7 so I actually pulled off the car cover and drove the 93 around for about 30 miles yesterday to get all the fluids hot and the seals wet. Love this car. The weather was in the 50's and clear for the first time in a week or so.

Unseasonably warm here today. So, I pulled the old '87 out for a little while. You don't get many warm days around here this time of year.

I have question about your bad lifters. Did any of them damage your camshaft? If they did, how long were you using the car for with the lifter noise going on?

Also what do you think caused the bad lifter? Thanks for the help. Happy holidays!
