The bolt never stopped spinning while tightening the bolt on the oil pan. So, that led to changed oil pan gasket, new M14 bolt retapped, new valve cover gaskets, new trans pan gasket and fluid/filter. Replaced all the missing 2 prong spark wire holders that sit below the valve covers so now my wires are routed properly. Replaced the ICM. Cleaned 28 years of grime from the cross bar underneath, the front support and various brackets. Also flushed the coolant and ps fluid. Put on a ac pump I recently got at the wrecking yard off a clean vette that got wrapped around a pole and replaced the oriface tube. Now she runs so smooth. And is leak free!

Dodged a bullet yesterday.... took the F-150 instead of the Vette and some nimrod drove into the side if me !
Minor damage to the truck....but the Vette would have been a lot worse !

It's mothballed right now while I finally bite the bullet and buy a Holley HP ECU to run the motor. If there's a change in induction noise, I'm sure I won't mind. Engine is a 383 through 1-3/4'' headers into 3'' X-piped exhaust with no cats. I probably won't be able to hear it, anyway.

Still have the exhaust piping that was part of the smog system? I was looking at mine earlier today and was thinking about getting rid of it on mine. I did my 86 Silverado when I had it but it wasn't hard piped like my Vette

WOW. I don't think they came out of the showroom that nice! How'd you get your wheels so shiny?

No - I removed all piping when I got the car, Gutted the airpump and plugged the airpump, valves, and cat. The reason I removed the airpump now, was the bearing was making some noise and also to lose some weight.

The gutted airpump (from when I got the car):

Thanks! My wheels were trashed with lots of nicks in them plus failing clear coat. One year I spent the winter months sanding and polishing the wheels. And I'm not done lol. I only went up to 800 grit and then polished them. The plan was to go to 1000. Being the wheels were really bad I had to begin with a really low grit as a starting point which made it a lot more work than expected. Maybe this winter I'll finish them off.

After having the D44in my basement since 2011, it was finally installed last Friday with help from new friends found here on the forum. Swapped out the D36/3.54 for the D44/3.54, new u joints on the driveshaft, ZF Doc Beam Plates, Lowering bolt kit for rear spring, etc.
Next on the list is to fix oil leak at timing chain cover and reinstall intake manifold. Drop her down off the jack stands and beat the hell out of it.

Today I had my neighbor who has a hoist install a new fuel filter in my '93 Ruby and replace a fog light bulb. That is a small opening for large hands! Been having intermittent fuel pressures. Can be steady at times and than go into a rough idle and 10 point flutter. Happens when engine is hot. So tomorrow morning I will replace the pump while fuel tank is near empty. Putting in walbro GSS242 190l from Racetronix. I do have a GSS340 255l on hand also but will go with the smaller unit.
Heading to Eureka Springs Corvette Weekend in Arkansas on Monday. Will stop in Branson on the way.

Passenger side started "running on" last week so I finally got started on replacing the bushings in it 2 nights ago. Most of night one was spent on removal of the assembly from the car and dousing the torx head bolts with penetrating oil so they didn't shear off the way the driver's side did!
Finished up the job last night and thought all was good until I realised I forgot to put the linkage roll pin back in. Fortunately it went in without much trouble with some oil and gentle tapping with a brass drift.

Pretty chill day today. Drove it to the bike shop to get a light for my road bike, and get a flat fixed.
