I bought my first C4 today😄😁👍
and very first thing I did was stop by at the Walmart right after picking up the car at the dealer(in downpour), and bought set of new wipers😑

Finally tracked down the cause of recent low gas mileage readings: replaced the small vac. hose between plenum and AFPR...
Now it's off to the shop for oil & filter change.

Changed serpentine belt on my '93 The one that was in the car looked very dry and had some minor cracking. It looks like it must've been the original belt, car has 105,000 kms on it. I notice on the Gates label that came with the new one to check the belt at 60km and change it at 90km.

Dropping off the 1995 this afternoon at a friend's shop for a new heater core, new power steering hose, new fuel filter. I could do this stuff myself (especially the fuel filter) but I can afford the "friend" prices at my buddy's shop... plus they do excellent and careful work, so I figure why not let them. Also my personal fuse has been a bit short lately for other reasons, so the last thing I need is a frustrating time under the dash with the heater core, and then wrestling with the power steering hose. I can see myself throwing wrenches or some other outburst.
I guess in my "old age" (49) I have learned to spend money on some things I could do myself, but would rather not. Looking forward to engine and transmission oil changes in the spring! I enjoy those

Heater core replaced OK. But the new power steering high pressure hose that I bought and gave them to install, they said it would not fit? I researched it thoroughly and many sources confirmed that the Gates 362380 is the correct power steering high pressure hose for my 1995 LT1. I emailed Gates about this and they said they have an original GM part which they use as a model to create their own reproduction part, and they are perfectly identical. Anyway my buddy took the old one to a hydraulics specialist and rebuilt it... a little pricey but at least it is done. Plus a new AC Delco Gold battery -- all three items done at my friend's shop to the tune of $1260. I was planning to do the battery myself but he got a good deal, and it was at his shop anyway for the other work.
After getting it home yesterday, I flushed the cooling system, pulled the knock sensors and all that, plus a new thermostat (MotoRad 307-180). Peeked inside the water pump with the thermostat out and it looks brand new, shiny and clean. Refilled with Peak long life green antifreeze. Checked the transmission and differential oils, plus all the other fluids, everything is full and clean. Recently put in new plugs and wires, and the tires are pretty fresh... now I just need an alignment, then nothing but oil changes and general inspections for several years.
Pretty stoked on getting all this done! Woohoo!
