My only major engine mods for my 88 have been ported heads, intake, and runners.

Hydraulic Clutch Master Cylinder
I went up to VIR to the IMSA races this past August and got out on the track for some parade laps in my '88 Vett. The second time around the Oak Tree Corner I went to shift from 1st to 2nd and had no clutch. I limped back to the South Paddock parking lot in 1st gear and squeezed up under the dash. The hydraulic clutch master cylinder rod was bent and had popped off the clutch pedal. The plastic insert that holds the cylinder rod on the pedal was missing one of the 4 "finger" retainers. Needless to say the rod popped off the clutch every time I replaced it. No tools, no parts and no hope of repairing it; I called a roll back and got to ride home in the cab with the tow truck driver for company. I bought the Vett a little over a year ago and have driven it very little. The guy I got it from told me that he had just had a new clutch installed. When I got around to checking out the problem I found that there was no spacer between the clutch master cylinder and the firewall. The spacer is over 1/2 inch thick and without it I believe the piston in the master cylinder bottomed out in the bore. Even with the rod bent the clutch functioned until the plastic retainer in rod eye lost one of its 4 "fingers" (thru abnormal wear) and allowed the rod to pop off the clutch pedal. Apparently when the clutch was replaced the clutch master cylinder was replaced also and the space was left out. Just one of those pain-in-the- a$$ things that only happens to the other guy until it happens to you.

Code 32 EGR fixed
Had the 32 code that applies to the EGR. Got lucky and found a vacuum line had come unhooked. Did not what to take the top of the engine off again...

There are few C4s here with less miles than that. I personally think its sorry to own a Corvette to be a talk piece.
I'm working on a thread, but step one (LTCC) got to be covered first.

Replaced courtesy door lights with Led bulbs. Though they are more efficient, much brighter and a lot cooler (temp wise), I now have to get used to the clean lighting instead of the yellow glow. Also I have to replace all the other interior lights now too, to look uniform. Anyone else here use interior led lights?
I'll be replacing the weather-stripping and headlight gears soon

I drove my car for the first time since I bought it. I bought it broken (Trans out) had it towed home, and since had engine problems that led to upgrades, rings and bearings.. Fuel system. A whole bunch of stuff.
Got it all worked out. Got a Temp Tag. Seats are still out of it, so I had to sit on a cardboard box.. But I finally got to drive it for the very first time. It's gonna be awesome. I love this car. *woot!*

Lower shift boot replacement
I had the same problem around the shifter/cup holder area. It was VIOLENTLY hot. I wouldn't even put my cell phone in the coin slot area for fear of cooking it.
Well, I ordered a lower shift boot for $40.00 and replaced it. I siliconed it in with bunch of RTV. The original boot had a few tears in it, so I was doubtful that anything would change much.
I am happy to say that the difference was astounding.
The switch out only took an hour, and there is now no difference in temperature between that area and the rest of the cabin.

Reinstalled the dash with LED conversion, after replacing the steering column.
Then the easy part: I detailed it, including cleaning/dressing the leather seats.

And today I took my door panels off so I could grease the door locks, was getting sick of reaching over to lock/unlock the passenger door by hand. Also put on the weather stripping that I got last christmas, took me long enough.
Also took the top off for the first time in my entire year of ownership, don't think I will be doing again until I get some added structural support, it felt like the frame was made of jello.

replaced the stereo with a double din bluetooth and imstalled a new shift console. The new shifter lens with a repainted pointer topped off the project. The old console turned into black bubblegum. The old stereo ate a cd a long time ago. So nice now.
