What did you do to your C4 today?

It NEVER ends with a C4
Well, I've owned my '85 since '88, so there is not too many things that haven't been "fixed" on this whip.
I've come to learn over the years of ownership that its not often the owners who "destroy" the car, its the shop mechanics. They want to fix the issue, but they're not going to "baby" your car. Time is key for them, and they take it out on your car.
Finally stopped the squeak, squeak, squeak from the engine compartment, and no it didn't need the tensioner that the mechanic was so bent on selling me. Just a change to Goodyear Gator belt (or whatever its called).
Long tube header bolt replaced... it had fallen out.
Rear greenwood ground effect quarter panel re-bolted, which required dropping the muffler to get up and under. While there, replaced passenger side brake bulb.
Re-bolted driver side battery panel with a fabricated bracket.
TO DO:
Vibration in driver door when closing. I've already found out its the rubber "boot" that has come off the stud inside the door on the bottom).
Install door lock harness in Driver door so I can use new key fob.
The car is far from "perfect" it has been a survivor for sure. ITs not babied.. I've taken back to commuting in it (150 miles per day) while my Dodge Magnum gets an engine rebuild.
The Vette has 248,000 on this clock (3rd engine), the '07 Magnum has 262,000 on the clock.
Since this is now my sons car (he's away at college till May)
, he's changed it to "competition black" and .... well.... its really a driving miracle.
I need the center section front lip... anybody?
Just back from the paint shop. Note the silver dash treatments..
Just back from the paint shop, some overspray on the tires and the driver door molding.

On my way to the alignment shop, I stopped at the gas station to remove my top and this girl came up to me and ask me if its okay to some pics of my car. She really liked the color. When I got to the shop another lady also complimented me on the Vette and the color. Women seems be really attracted to this Aqua Metallic color -- I got a couple of compliments too at work from women.
Getting my alignment rechecked................I'm glad I purchased the lifetime service.

Hit a deer. No one hurt, damage not all that bad. Those C4's have one tough front end. Basically a head light assembly, but hood is jammed and won't open. Any votes on extending the deer hunting season from Jan 1st to Dec 31st?

Removed, Cleaned and reinstalled ICM & Heatsink
Thanks to other's posts on the forum - I decided to give my ICM/Heatsink a cleaning in an effort to solve a weird cold start issue. After sitting more than 24hours the 96' LT4 had a difficult time starting. Lot's of cranking time, and heavy fuel smell when it finally started running. Had already verified fuel pump ran for 2-3 seconds upon turning key to on and that pressure remained while cranking. Removed the ICM it and it appeared to be original (has GM logo on part). Cleaned it and the heatsink up really well, applied new thermal compound from Radio Shack and put it back together.
The car had been sitting almost 72 hours at this point. After turning on the ignition and validating that I still heard the fuel pump, I turned it over and 2-3 seconds of cranking and it was off and running like a champ! $5 of thermal compound, 20 minutes of cleaning and I prolonged the life of my ICM.

Burning Brakes
Went to clean my 'washable' air filter, and found it cant be cleaned. So I bought a used replacement filter housing because the moron that had the car before me cut it apart, tried to glue it back together, and failed. That is also the reason for the 'washable' filter that is on the throttle body.
Update
Picture of 'new' to me filter housing installed.

Refinished my Windshield Frame - No More Chips
FINALLY went ahead and refinished my windshield frame.... been a long time coming and basically just tired of using a black magic marker to fill in the chips.

Over the weekend I finally got the burned out tail light replaced.
Apparently I'm related to Popeye as even with the advice to access it through the license plate opening my arms still wouldn't fit. My son-in-law however, was able to reach. Since the bulbs came in a two pack, I decided to do both while they were out and found that while the inner light was still working, the glass was loose from the base, so I was glad I did.
I was interested in LED's before, I'm seriously researching the LED bulb options now.
Took it for a short drive with the top down.

No pics, but last Wednesday I carried mine to the track ( http://langley-speedway.com/ ) for the first time for some short track practice. .396 mile track, best time was 20.8sec/68.5mph with street tires (255/45/17 NT555 front, 275/40/17 Cooper Zeon RS3-A back). First time on a track for me. Can't describe the feeling I got doing laps knowing all the great drivers that have raced at that track. All I can say is it just made me want to go faster and faster, even though I had the car pushed to her limits as it was.

Well, two spun rod bearings in the old LT1, metal everywhere. Grabbed an LT1 out of an Impala SS for $300 and I am converting everything over. I know it's a 2 bolt main, but I really couldn't give a rats ***, this car will never see over 400RWP.
Got the old LT1 stripped down to the short block, fixing to do the same with the new motor. Hoping to be back on the road by next week. My 69 lesabre convertible is nice, but it's starting to get hot out and I want my vette back.
