MAT = Manifold Air Temperature sensor - it's under the plenum.
...tells ECM what temp intake air is so it can control the EGR (on an 89 - on later models it's also used to control other things..)
My EGR is deleted, so I don't need the MAT sensor. With the resistor in place, the temp is now 'fixed'.

I installed my new headliner with the C4 logo today. This should help me to lower my times. I sure wish there was a carbon fiber replacement roof panel. I sure could save a bunch of weight.

I installed a new Power Acoustics stereo unit in my 84 today. The car was originally a non-Bose unit so it was a little less complicated. The unit plays CDs and DVDs as well as AM/FM and also has Bluetooth for streaming music and phone operation.

The music streaming is OK but depending on location tends to skip a little. The wireless phone operation seems to be just fine. It works for me just fine. For the price I paid it is a great improvement over the after market unit that was in the car when I purchased. It cost me less than $100.00 shipped to my door. It has a nice little LCD screen which is fairly easy to navigate and I think looks great installed in the car. Here are a couple of pics of the installation.

It was hard to get a angle that the LCD would show in the picture

I would highly recommend this radio to anyone wanting a inexpensive unit that has a lot of features.

It also has USB port, SD card slot and Aux in port.

Took the vette for a nice long scenic drive in the canyons while doing an open loop VE learn with the wide band O2.

I took some video but it's to long for YouTube by 5 minutes.

On the way home i took the freeway, ended up playing along with a pair or superbikes.
Tons of fun, and i felt totally comfortable at my undisclosed speed.

Just finished my 4th optispark replacement in 1 1/2 years . (2 MSD units , the first lasted 9 months for roughly 8k miles and the 2nd never made it a mile. Did an LTCC Conversion and skimped by with a cheap World Power Select opti that lasted 4k miles, and just installed a petris enterprise opti) Hopefully I'll have better luck this time. BTW all of my opti failures was either just a low res failure, or I lost both at the same time. The amazing thing is that I never had to call a tow truck!!! LMAO

Painted the air cleaner cover to match the new valve covers color, actually I do not like this color because it is for the 85 and newer model cars but I have not found a supplier with the gray color like the 84 cars but that is life, I still have to take the car for a drive after the Renegade installation and the emissions junk removal, if it all works right I will be driving it along Route 66 from the begining in Chicago to California then home to Colorado

Quick detail, polished the wheels, and bolted on the new Windjammer - works great at reducing the wind/noise from up top.

Finished cleaning the back of all my wheels. Hopefully will put them on tomorrow. Before and after pic. Not perfect, but a big improvement, I'm my opinion.

Car looks great, I like that color. Where did you get the seat covers? Did you put them on or have somebody else do them?

Thanks,
Chuck
