I bought my second Vette a 90 C4. I will be converting it to a Race car for the Champ car series. I do have a question - what parts to I need to put z51 handling on the car? I assume if it was Z51 it would say somewhere? The car does have the Z51 wheels on it how can i tell if it is a Z51?

It's going to be 75'f today. I'm driving my Vette to work and the top is coming down on the ride home.
Check the RPO codes. They should be listed on a sticker on the inside of your center console. Here's a thread where I was asking about the RPO codes.

Bose speakers have a sound that is considered "warm" due to the paper cones and equalization. Adding a thin coat of Elmers carpenter wood glue can clean up the sound and help them pop. Its different and only you can say if its better. Search this forum for the instructions, does and donts.

Getting Ready for Engine Swap & Reassembly
Today, I installed new U-joints in my driveshaft. I used the AC Delco 45U0405 joints with the coated caps for use with aluminum driveshafts. Everything went together well. The old joints were a bit notchy, and looked to be the original ones.
I pick up my replacement LT1 this weekend. We pulled the current engine last weekend and discovered a spun rod bearing on #5 cylinder. I'll transfer a few accessories from the old to the new, clean it up a bit and stab it back in. Wish me luck!

I installed a set of Duraflex side skirts on my 88. Decided not to attach that filler piece that goes on the bottom of the door. What do you think, should it stay off?

Cleaned drivers side carpet
Vacuum and carpet cleaner on my red carpet. I bought a new power antenna for it as well, but I haven’t installed it yet. I’m nervous about jacking it up with my floor jack. Possibly going to make a puck thing for it so I don’t damage anything.

today i replaced my power antenna. it took way longer than i thought it would, of course my old sears floor jack died on me so i had to go to the auto store and i bought a small acdelco racing jack. it's pretty small but it fits under the car well and and did the job. i had no issues getting the wiring undone, but the wire grommet was glued in and i wrestled with it for about 40 minutes trying to get it out. i finally got my son to come out and he had it off in 3 minutes. then i spent another hour and a half getting the new one in and getting the grommet seated back in. all wired up, and it works, but it also seems to me that it doesn't extend all the way...? i'm not sure what the height should be but it looks like one section of the antenna isn't extending, but i have nothing to compare it too,
anyways, that's enough for the day. LOL

I trudged out through the snow to the garage, where I drank a beer and looked at it.
It's supposed to be warm and rainy today. I want to go drive it but I want the salt off the road first. Maybe some hot laps around the neighborhood.

On Sunday I took it out of heated storage , and drove it to Moms and put it in cold storage.
I have a bunch of work coming up and don't want it out in the rain and snow.
She's out of town till spring

60 degrees in NE in Feb, I have to get my 96 CE LT4 vert out. Sunday I took a 45 minute drive with the top down. I just had total left hip replacement Feb 8 . This is what I call therapy!👍

Having owned my car for 2 years this week I was giving it a bit of a birthday, even cleaning the ends of the doors for the first time. I noticed this sticker and was tipped off that a Z49 code was a Canadian spec car. I paid for a Carfax and turns out it was delivered in Ontario! I didn't think Americans could use proper gearboxes and this just confirms my theory
Happily it also has a clean record! Build date is 11/88 so it must be the very first of the ZF6 cars?
