What did you do to your C4 today?

Washed my Vette. Then I took off the top and put the Targa Top Brace on for the first time this year!

Replaced the O2 sensor, seems old age and heat broke it clean off. Gave her a weekly wash and took the wife to a drive in theater. Have to say that is better then any theater I have ever been to. seats are more comfortable, listen at the sound level you want and have to targa off. Not to mention the speakers in our cars do amazing for a movie.

Advanced
I took a roadtrip and picked up the final piece of the puzzle for upgrading the brakes to C5.
N73 magnesium wheels. Although I love the sawblades I really like the look and feel of these aswell. A little refurbishing with a hint of gold in the paint and I'm happy.

I took the painted top off for only the second time in 16 years of ownership and I installed the smoked top for the first time. Man, taking the top off is certainly not something that can be accomplished at a red light

Burning Brakes
Pulled the cowl screens off my 93 Ruby and cleaned the drain lines. Water was starting to lay on the drivers side. With 3 C4’s it’s her time for the driveway for a few weeks. Of course my wife’s Toyota has a guaranteed home in the garage.

Bough and installed a new shifter console. Looks great! Will post pics of it installed in a bit. Also tore apart the entire dash to search and destroy a squeak and got it off. Repaired the dash pad ends near the windshield to the best of my ability. Came out great haha. She needs gas now and a wash. That’s tomorrow’s project

Melting Slicks
Door Handle upgrade
I have a 96 base. The interior is almost perfect. The one thing that was not was the drivers side door handle. Maybe the PO had a big rough ring or something but it was beat up. I ordered this sample size
carbon fiber (not real) and am happy with the result for less than $3.00 free shipping.

Went to Cars and Coffee today.
Here is mine....the cheapest, crappiest, highest mile car there!
This guy came from Bountiful, in a gorgeous '90 ZR-1 that has had some Marc Haibec magic done to it. Sweet.
Mmmm, Viper. Pantera.
You know, the stock wheels on my Ferrari...they just don't cut it. They're just too...."meh". I had to go out and get some much cooler, after market wheels in order to fully appreciate my Ferrari.
Here was a mint XK 140....

Here was a totally mint '51 XK120; 3.4L, 160 hp, gorgeous car.
And let's just have a look at this engine. Art. ****. Beautiful. Now days, we cover it with a slab of plastic.
This was kind of cool. I'd forgotten about these cars. This one had a 318 Chrysler in it, but some came with Caddy engines.

When C&C was wrapping up (and all the Mustangs were done crashing ), The Viper owner, my boy and I went on a "high performance drive" on this road:
Which took us to the top of this pass w/scenic vistas.
All in all, a fantastic car-guy morning!

New Front Brakes
Today I installed the drilled and slotted front rotors and carbon fiber ceramic pads that the PO supplied to me with the car. He had installed the rears, but hadn't done the fronts yet. As that C4 veterans here know, this is a pretty straight forward job. Not too difficult. I made sure to go through the recommended break in procedure. Now I have new brakes on all four corners. Still a few items to sort out, but it's coming together nicely...

Changed all 4 shocks, though I did retain the worn out ones if the next owner wants to get them rebuilt. Tore into the passenger side door, dropped the panel, removed and replaced the crappy speaker, and now the door panel is giving me fits...I can't get it to seat properly, got frustrated and walked away...will address it tomorrow evening after work, maybe.
