Picked up some Speedline Alessio wheels for a good price and test fitted them. I guess they're from an Aston DB7 originally. I'll order some bigger barrels and get rid of my 1in spacers on the rear, should be fine then. Likewise proper sized tyres, that arch gap won't be there

PS The "right stuff" now comes in a tube but has a 90 minute cure period. Yee Haw no more wasting a whole giant tube.

Hey Kenmohr, I'll take a swag it was the parking brake...

John, let us know how you like the short-shifter.
How much will it shorten the shift movement from OEM?
Do you also have that R safety pull as does my '89?

Hi 65Z01,
I got the shifter installed this afternoon. The hardest parts were getting the lower front dust boot in place after connecting the shift rod, and getting the lower shift boot in place and stuck down with the Gorilla Snot. I'm pretty sure that my fingers will be sore tomorrow... To your question, it will shorten the throw 25%. I won't be able to actually test it out for a few weeks, due to the wonderful Michigan weather. I ran it through the gears sitting still, and it feels pretty dang nice! With the shims Bill (ZFdoc) provided, it eliminated all the slop that I had in the system before. I'm sure I'm going to like it a lot. Here's a few pics.

Regards,
John

I had my 91 out the other day and when I pulled back the garage and turned off the car I could hear something running. I checked around and it was my heater blower running, the heat was off, the car was off and the key out?? I pulled the car back out and ran the heater (I have the electronic controller) and it worked fine, put when I shut everything off the blower still ran, but very slow, slower than #1 setting. A forum search turned up that the blower relay may be bad. I bought one and started to put it in but found that I down't have a blower relay, that's only in manual control cars. My FSM has very little info on this but I did find a reference to the "blower power module" located in the heater case. My NAPA was able to get the blower power module, (it took 4 days) and cost $180 instead of the $25 of the relay. Pretty easy install, and it solved the problem. New part a little different than original, with the most unusual part being that the plugs are reversed.Top pic original on right, bottom pic original on top

Ouch!! I was in NAPA buying parts for a work truck and it was kind of an impulse buy. Note to self... shop around for parts!

John, thanks for the info/impressions and the pics, hope to hear on how the shift feel differs once on the road.

BTW, how/where does that R shift pull connect to the mechanism that prevents accidently hitting R.

Hi 65Z01,
My car is a 95, which has the ‘crash through ‘ reverse gate (as does 96). The 94 was the last year that used the lift ring reverse lockout. Bill at ZFdoc sells both kinds of short shifters, but the lift ring style are a bit more expensive. Hope this helps!

Regards,
John

Installed the ash tray in the '89, too cold to deal with the other "mods".
Should be warm enough on Sat. for a good wash after twice removing recent snows.

Currently looking into leather repair kits as the right side bolster has usual wear.

Took the '89 to the power wash first time and really shines up nicely.
On the way to/from "tried out 1st & 2nd at ~2k RPM: 1st scared me, 2nd gave nice slide. Wondering if she will slide in 3rd...

Checked out the RED seat covers in little more detail, now sure if "fix it" or buy new is best. Thinking I'd like to try the "fix" for a fun project.

Damn, can't wait for nice weather.

Made a new sun visor. Need to do the drivers side tomorrow.

The cardboard frame of the original turned to dust. Traced a template, cut two halves out of foam board, lots of fitting, trimming sanding, carbon fiber vinyl wrap and...

About $6 to create this.

Got a tad of a "fright" yesterday on way to power wash. Coming up to ~2k RPM in 1st a brief "pop" of the throttle got her 45deg sideways in a heartbeat. On return drive a similar throttle hit in 2nd also got a bit of a "wag". Now I'm wondering if she'll do similar in 3rd...
Damn, I can see why you guys love these six-speeds.

Finally got the old PA sticker scraped off the windshield in preparation for the NYS safety inspection tomorrow.

Still too damn wet or cold to proceed with installation of awaiting "mods"...

Took the car to the local supermarket and received nice comments from a guy in the car next door in the parking lot. Both agreed that the C4 is good looking car and so also were the older Camaros.
