Exhaust
Today I reinstalled my exhaust system, after installing my short shifter last week. I had to do quite a bit of work on the connection between the headers and the exhaust pipes. The PO cobbled it together, but I was able to straighten it out with a good share of welding, grinding, and cussing... I also repainted my exhaust tips while it was out.
The next step is to finish the work on my console so I can get the interior all buttoned up. I've stripped the Dulso off and I'm looking for some No. 7 glass beads for my sand blaster so I can texture the surface. Once that is done, I'll be waiting for Mother Nature to cut me some slack so I can try out my new shifter. Hurry Spring, please...
Regards,
John

Got the 2nd ign, key cut successfully on 2nd try; now have a complete spare set.
A set of GY Eagle F1 all-seasons were installed, along with 4-wheel alignment and wow...what a difference in accel.
The black velour dash cover pad arrived, looks great (better than expected) and fit is excellent.
The red leather steering wheel cover is on order; I'm very eager to get it installed.

That looks cool, BLKMAMBA!
Yesterday for me:
1) Parking brake. Would not engage. Read posts and figured it was grease/crud. Yep. Cleaned it and the cam freed up. Now works!
2) Cigar lighter. No, I don't smoke and this one had never, ever been used. No voltage. Fuse good. Took the panel off and found that it was unplugged. Must have been this way from the factory. Also did not know about the source in the picture below. Now have 12v power source!

After digging out from under the damn snow, I pulled the air tilter from my "new" '89 and discovered to my happy surprise that it already had a K&N. Now in the process of cleaning/oiling it and opening up the filter lid.

Melting Slicks
Replaced CHMSL (3rd brake light) bulb, #1156. Simple and easy fix. The socket inserts upward into the housing rather than straight back, counter-intuitive but obviously it works. Glad the problem was not the b-pillar wiring or brake pedal switch. So much good information on this forum!

Was able to get half of my interior plastics re-dyed. When I bought the car 8 years ago I didn't realize they had re-dyed the seat, door panels and vinyl surround on the convertible hatch.
When I bought new leather for the seats, I decided to just re-dye the plastics to match the new leather.

I just hung the door panel without fastening it. Wanted to get an idea of what it looked like.
Now onto the other side !!
