Safety Car
Walked past the 5' pile of snow built up from blowing along with all the snow on the roof, patted her on the butt through the car cover and reminded her that spring would be coming some day and to be patient.

My new rebuilt targatop from Corvette America showed up. So naturally, I installed it.
But my mistake was that I also installed rear window seal at the same time. These new Targa top needs to be adjust to fit to the car, and with brand new seal, it was PITA to do!

Haven't posted for a while in this thread. I'm neck deep in my current projects. No pictures. Guess I should take some.
Needed to change the rear seal and speed sensor on the Auto Trans.
Dropped the whole exhaust off.
Pulled the C-Beam loose (after trying to get the drive shaft out with the C-Beam in place) at both ends and moved it out of the way.
Pulled the drive shaft out.
Placed the U-Joints on the drive shaft.
Replaced the trans rear main seal and the speed sensor which had just started leaking like crazy.
Put the drive shaft back in and after fighting the C-Beam for hours, finally got it back in this afternoon.
Next up, pull the pan and replace the gasket (did this before - following the manufactures instructions to not use any sealant). Will be using sealant this time around.
Will also be replacing the front crank position censor as it is also leaking. Waiting for the part to arrive.
Might replace the motor mounts while I'm doing the pan gasket. Haven't decided on that yet.
Then get every thing buttoned up and see how it works.

After watching several vids on how to "properly" shift my '89 6-speed took her out for a little practice drive...damn CAGS...
First thing after returning home was to order the CAGS defeat kit; can't wait for it to arrive so I can "repair" my tranny.

Threw a bit of paint on the tips and mufflers. They were looking ragged.

I finally got around to installing the lowering kit for the rear, really simple to do.
I haven't decided if I will lower the front or not, there is a gap above the front tires
but I like not scraping the front end on speed bumps.

Funny, I just did the opposite, i LIFTED the rear of the car (need to do the same to the front). I realized a large contributor of my harsh ride was having only about 1" of suspension travel..... It looked cool, but anything but a race track was rough.

How did you do that? I've wanted to do the same thing ever since I got my Corvette.

For the front, I grabbed some 1/4" phenolic type of scrap material, trimmed to fit under the spring, used a 2nd jack to lift the spring to create a gab and slid the material in. The 1/4" under the end of the spring gave me about 1" of lift.
Its great having more then 1-2" of suspension travel!
