Callaway Aerobody Nose (finally)
Hi guys, just sharing with you a pic of my Aerobody nose finally installed. Had to get my C4 out of it's hibernation. The nose is just red primer at the moment. This is just a quick pic of it installed, to test fit. Nothing, and I mean nothing about the bumper fits/matches the factory bumper. Just know if you find one, installing it will be a complete custom deal. I will have to make some sort of bracket to relocate the hood emblem but that's not a big problem. Called Callaway, $1,000 for replacement fog light lenses...

Cool project
The whole kit it's $8K+. I didn't know those fog lenses were $1K. By the time you order the whole kit, buy all the parts and paint (whole car) it could be a $15K project.

That looks so cool. It's a good option when you find a C4 with a good engine but the bumpers are all worped and needs paint.
Please come back and post final pics. What year is your C4?

As far as the replacement lenses go: make a template of the lens space, score/cut a piece of acrylic of appropriate thickness in the same dimension, then a decent heat gun to heat it and bend it fit like the original. Just a thought anyway.

That was still a really good price, and relative, given it was missing the lenses and some hardware.
I am sure we can supply the proper bracket to "float" your front emblem in the opening, and if we can supply the lenses and light hardware, please let us know that, too.

A better picture in the daytime. Had to modify the factory front bumper brackets (that run along the top sides of the bumper connecting the inner fenders) to properly mount the bumper, as well as drill new holes for the main studs that hold on the bumper. Fitment is ok, not the bumpers problem, more I need to fine tune it into place. But it's on there rock solid using factory hardware and the blinkers work, and I'm enjoying the ram air (seriously, you can see the air filter element when you look into the nostrils) An added bonus is that the bumper retains the center section of the factory radiator air dam (whatever we call it) so it won't hurt cooling.

I wish I had the whole kit, but the front bumper is all a mere mortal such as myself could find. It was a cheapo used bumper I scrounged from eBay. And to answer another members question earlier, the car is a 1990 z51 with the later wide molding body parts

Could you take a side pic to show how it lines up with the stock body lines. With the late body style it should look good with the rear rounded back end. This topic is a little more exciting than the usual I just got zr-1 rims.

I'm not sure if there was supposed to be one. The bumper retains the factory plastic center air dam (not connected to the new bumper in any way) that directs the air to the radiator (you lose the side ones that affix to the factory front bumper) the fiberglass bumper didn't have any other mount holes, just the main studs and the holes along the top and sides (that bolt onto the factory locations) I mean, there very well could be a metal piece missing, but I don't see any place for it to of mounted to.

I'm ultimately going to get some 315's for the rear and some oem fender flares. With the car lowered like it is, should look pretty bad when it's done. On Tracyvette.com they sell a product called "millennium" hood scoops that look almost exactly like the factory Callaway scoops. Thinking about those but they're pricey (for what you actually get)

I'm really bored so here's a few pictures
This one shows how rough the bumper was. It took soooo much longer to get the bumper smooth and ready to primer, than the time it took installing the thing. The previous owner had painted it with sticky house paint...
... and a before and after pic so you can see how dramactic the new bumper is The Callaway bumper is much lower than the factory one, got to be even more careful driving the lowered C4 now

Just an update, had the day off and decided to tinker with the car. We removed the Callaway bumper (to be able to fit it better) and aligned it perfect now. Sits on the car as good as it's humanly going to get. Wet sanded the primer to smooth it out and washed/waxed the car. Looks even meaner now that the bumper doesn't look tweaked
Someone asked for a side view of the car. This picture was taken before we fit the bumper better. Also, the car was on a jack a moment earlier and the suspension hadn't settled so that's why it looks so high in the back. This bumper looks scary low, I wonder how often I'll be scraping it...
Here you can see how much better the bumper fits on the car. The gap between the hood and the bumper can not get any better, but the gaps are all even and level. The bumper must've come from a wrecked Callaway because it's in rough shape. Also, in this pic we removed the hood emblem to make a bracket (at a later date because obviously it got dark) to relocate it to its proper home in the bumper.
And finally, just a picture to see that the turn signal lights are in and working. Now that the bumper actually fits well the car looks really impressive.
