This correct mine is stamped with HFC-code FE1 in the front. This is fine with me. I really don't want a rougher ride, I'm more of a cruiser these days. My front end is apart and clean and I'm getting ready to paint my calipers and install the new drilled and slotted rotors. With the new deep dish c5 wheels you can see a lot more than the originals. I still haven't cut the rubber off the springs because I am still aloof. I wouldn't give it a second though if it wasn't a convertible with that x brace. No one has answered me if the ride will be rougher using the poly wedges as I can tell a little deference just going to the 18 inch wheels although they are taller than my 17s to offset the lowering. I'm still a car guy at heart but my interest have change a bit. If you would like to see go to youtube and type in kurt@handuras roatan shark dive in the search bar.

Every car that gets the lowering wedges will react differently to that modification, every one! They may be similar but the effect of the wedges certainly does vary car to car. Ride height will vary car to car also.

Your 18" wheels haven't effected your ride quality. The tire "construction" would certainly have an effect on ride quality. What tires do you have on this car presently? Brand, size speed/load rating? All of it. What was there when you had 17's? That difference is likely the ride quality difference, using the wedges in a lowering kit would certainly likely create further issues with ride quality but as to how much, again every car is different.

I only took it out for a quick spin on the 18s it did seem to soften some. The rears a nitto n555 extreme 285 40 z rating I believe. the front are cheap 245 40s but I just got my nitto n555 extreme 275 40s for the front today. the 17s where cooper 275 40s run flats all around.

Anything I would have thought might improve the ride quality over the "run-flats". If you've only been for a "quick-spin" on the other than "run-flats" you need to give it some time. I don't believe the Nitto is known for ride quality either but it should be much better than the "run-flats" I'd think.

I'm going with the wedges and what it is, is what it is. The wheel gap is crazy on these cars and I have always been about stance. It's so much easier on the older cars. If I don't like it or there are issues I'll go from there. I've learned more about these cars in the last few weeks than in the last two years. More dumb questions to come I'm sure. Thanks for the help. Kurt
