Default Driving to Bowling Green!

I am on my way from Northern California to run the Tail of The Dragon and attend a gathering with the ZR1 and GS folks in Bowling Green.

Here is a picture outside the hotel in Elko NV, yesterday morning!!

The rest of the day was spent driving in snow, heavy rain, hail and fog!! An interesting drive, the car ran great but the tires had little grip in the snow and hydroplaned in the rain!!

Today the top was off to make for yesterday!

That's a haul from the west coast ! Hope you're not too burned out from driving to enjoy the mountain run. Bad weather in the plains tomorrow, be careful if you're traveling through tornado alley.

See ya there, I'll arrive Monday for the last 2 days of the run, coming up from N/W Florida.

Always great to see other Vette owners driving the distance. I was at BG couple of weeks ago on the C5Z, drove Tail of the Dragon, and the Snake US 421.

That Friday was the NCM Corvette Bash and saw few C4s there.

The sink hole was almost filled up that day.

Enjoy the C4 Gathering.

As I understand it, the state is straighting some the Dragon out. To many wrecks from what I understand. This all might be runor cause I cant remember my source for this info.

Yes, they were there 2 weeks ago.

What the state did is to prohibit semis to drive on it.

Ran most of it on 2 wheels last week, TN law enforcement was present.

Don't know how long you will be in the area here's some maps.

http://kickstandlodge.com/maps/ride_map.html

The hell bender is fun, highway 28 to 129.
Also the skyway.

If you get to N GA run blood mountain (Stuches loop)

Good luck

From the southern end of the dragon take Rte 82 to Fontana Dam. I think it is actually a lot more fun than the dragon. Not as much traffic and better speeds/curves. Then Fontana Dam has some nice scenic parking spots.

Do you mean the Blue Ridge Parkway? Nice views, yes, but too many tourists.

I'm heading out this morning, should be in Fontana this afternoon if all holds together.

Looking forward to some curvy roads.
