Looking for my first vette, opinions?
I've always loved the C4 Corvettes and lately I've really gotten the urge to buy one (never had a corvette before) . Looking on Craigslist and Auto Trader I've found a couple but this one sticks out to me,
Copy of text from the ad,
1988 Corvette w/pro charger & intercooler
66,700 miles
$6900 Cash Only/No Trades
-New cats
-New exhaust
-New starter
-New glass top
-New tires & rims (285 on back)
-New brakes & rotors
-Body and interior in great shape.
-Engine runs great.
Fun car to drive.
The guy is askin $6900 for it which is more cash than I have but I could probably finance with my good credit?
I dunno, what does everyone think of this car? Anything I should check?

West coast? Yep that might be a good buy. North east, again maybe.
South and south east? Nope too high.
Has enough miles to not be dry rotted from storage but low enough in miles to still be nice.

Looks like a good buy to me. If the car is in good shape, with a pro-charger, and 66K miles... $6900 is more than fair.
However, know that buying a car with a pro-charger might give you more issues down the line... don't know if I would buy it if you plan on using it as a daily driver.

What I'm looking for in a car is a second vehicle that can split Daily Driver duties with my Jeep. Would having a 'procharged' Corvette be a negative for that purpose?
I'm not really sure what to look for and what a good price is. Seems like pricing is all over the place. Others that have caught my eye are; Dealership has a 94 with 95k miles on it and they want $9995 for it (little rich for me). One I've been eyeing for a while is a 93 with 124k miles (higher than I want) at a dealer for $6900 as well.
One thing that concerns me about the one I posted originally is it has been on the market for over a month. And the owners state there is absolutely nothing wrong with it other than no A/C hooked up. Not sure why it's still available

If its a every other day driver dont know if I would buy it because of the old P/C but if its just a toy I would go for it and try 6500 for the heck of it.

That's not really a good daily driver (or every other day) set up. If it it breaks it will most likely break big. Would be nice to fool around with on weekends though.

Well look at it this way. If the pro charger gives any issues then just take it off. ITs not that hard to switch it out and you can put it back on later.
Putting a lower boost pulley on it should bring it down to so low a boost level it will help a bit performance wise but keep it very docile and easy on the car for daily driving.

For that kind of money you can get something stock in great shape, later years and then you can modify if you have the time and money.....
