!984 Corvette market
Have I been asleep the past two years. I have been pricing 1984 Corvettes to get and idea of selling mine and I must admit i am shocked. 1984's with high mileage are selling for around $8,000 and up. One I found wrecked was going to $2500. Mine may need a transmission and axle shafts and I getting quotes of about $3,000 with parts and labor. My car is clean as can be with many new parts with 151K and I was hoping to get $2,000. Now I am having second thoughts. Has the C4 market taken a complete turn around?

The early C4s have jumped in value, in my area at least.
I wouldnt consider selling mine for less than $9000, and at that, Id be hard pressed to let it go.
Yes, I consider that high, but its what the current market is supporting.
Look at it this way. You cant go to your local corner lot and get one, so its worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it.
$3k sounds like a lot, but can you replace your Vette with one thats equal or nicer for that kind of money?

my little town has had a '84 C4 in the paper for $9500 with around 100K miles, and it's been there for the last 6 months. I'm sure the car is spotless.
Just need to find the right guy.
The price of unrestored Camaros and everything else just keeps climbing as well.
I just paid $1900 for a 84 C4 with a bad trans, seems nobody wants to buy a dead car. Body on mine needs paint work, and some interior work, not ever going to be a show car, like the beauties I see here.
I just saw an opportunity to own a Corvette, which I've wanted since my uncle let me shift his '62 convert from the passenger seat when I was 4 y/o (52 years ago).
Good luck, whichever way you go....

Here are a bunch of 84s for sale out in the nice dry South West part of the country. It appears that the majority of the asking prices are in the 4-5,000 range and some of them have been on there for a LONG time.
