Its peculiar how many folks are mesmerized by the uniqueness of the option list. I'm not sure why this is but my read on it is that rarity has no value, its all about desirability. For example the so called "big tank" vettes can be worth a bundle not so much for the large gas tank or the fact that few were sold but for the fact that they were typically built with other race related options. Race heritage sells because the heritage of Corvettes is steeped in racing. Odd ball color options and weird option combinations don't really matter to the buyer. Now if it was originally purchased by Paul Newman or owned by Zora Arkus Duntov, that's a different story.

I did a bit more digging and discovered that my '88 is one of 772 base coupes (i.e. Non-Z51 or Z52) ordered with Bilstein shocks. Strange to me...why order the excellent shocks and forgo the suspension to match? It was built June 18th so it was literally at the end of the model year. That may account for the oddities.

Z07 rare? Now that's hilarious 😂
How about a sledgehammer? Or the millionth production white C4 that fell in the sink hole at the museum

Call Betty at the National Corvette Museum for a copy of the Build Sheet. Or Order Copy, whatever they call it now. Have your VIN and a CC. It used to be $35, and an extra nominal charge to have it laminated if you wish. It will have more info on it than the SPID decal in the car did. Like production date, ship-to Dealer, shipping weights.

I looked in my Corvette Black Book and saw a few rarities. In 1984 there was only ONE yellow Corvette. And yellow was not used agin until 1986.
Also in 1986, there were only 4 Copper Metallic Vettes. In 1987 there were only 87 Copper Metallics and that color was only used one more time in 1994 on 116 cars. I'd say that is the rarest of colors.

True. I've judged some cars that are still with their original owners and the Corvette was a reach for them when they bought it new. So you get cars with just a few options. An example would be an early C4 with no power door locks and no cruise control.

1996 LT4, Black on Black, Z51, and every other option possible.
There are more Grand Sports then there are Black LT4 cars.
This forum says I am less then 1 of 35. Did not care that it was rare.
Just happens I wanted a Blank on Black LT4 Z51.
No idea how I got so lucky to find one.

All C4's have power windows. Crank windows were never available on C4.
Rear window defogger became standard equipment in 89.
I've inspected scores of C4's. I've only seen one with the CB radio. That is probably the rarest option on any year if you exclude non-standard color combinations.
