Convertible velcro
I replaced the top on my 1986 convertible. the inner top liner attaches to the top frame sides with Velcro when the top is up. The new top came with Velcro installed. My question is: have any of you replaced the Velcro on the top frame? I have searched most of the corvette suppliers and have not located this item, I will probably end up just purchasing some Velcro from a big box store and cutting it to size as I have done before. The Velcro that I purchased did not hold well. Suggestions please.

I got tired of replacing the Velcro and had a top shop put in metal snaps. Two to a side. I had it done a few years back but I think it cost me $45.00. If you would like a picture, send me your e-mail and I'll send you a pic. I refuse to jump thru the hoops to post one here.

This is what I did:

They can usually be found at a marine/boating supply store.
I first tried "heavy duty Velcro" but that only was good for a few days and it came apart. (the factory sews the Velcro on-heavy duty just uses adhesive).
