Default Still confused about 1984 wheel centers

I asked this before but I'm still
Not exactly sure about the answer. My centers are all silver, the wheel in the lug are, and the center hub
I can buy the center hit easily
Was the area around the lugs painted?
Thanks
Monte K

OP - perhaps it would be best for you to post a snapshot of your wheel(s) AND if it's not to much effort the casting information from the wheel back-side. The casting information would ID the wheel as to what it was to have been originally and a snapshot could be used to direct comments to the wheel.

'86 I believe had natural centers where the snapshots are black and an '87 wheel was painted argent.

If you have questions you could use eBay as a "tool" and search 1986 Corvettes for sale, there's several that have "stock" wheels and images that can be "zoomed" etc.

You can take a look at the following link. It shows pictures of the wheels along with the specs for them.

I've never used them for wheel comparisons but they do have a very complete interchange guide to C4 "hoods" (many misunderstand hood fitment) and they also have a "removable top" description/interchange that's very complete. If they added "painted" to the '91/'92 "saw-blade" description I believe the wheel guide would be flawless.

TOPS, WHEELS and HOODS are all here:

Default Wheels

Hi
Thanks for the link it answered my question,
I think my 84 has 86 wheels that were not painted in the center
Where as the 84. Wheels we're painted gloss black along with the inside of the turbines
I prefer the black so I'll change that while I have the wheels off
Thanks again
Monte

I think it is one of the best references I have seen too.

There are a couple other discrepancies too.

They missed the painted openings on most of the machined finished wheels too.

The '96 CE wheel shows the '91-'96 silver painted center cap with the red chevy bow tie on a black background insert on the right side. It should be the CE center cap that has Collector Edition on a black background.

I believe you need to let them "slide" on the center-caps and some of the other minor incidentals. It's a pretty damn complete guide.

Default Wheels

I agree I saved it
The best reference I've found
It also helped me in converting my top from
1st design to the second design
Thanks again
