I've boiled it down to purchasing an Acrylic Top for my 1995 from Corvette Central. The CC roof frame is cast aluminum while less expensive acrylic roof frames supplied by others are molded plastic. This I've been told while searching for a new roof.

Question: What color, Bronze or Blue came OE with a 1995 Torch Red Corvette?

I don't know about 95 but in 85 a code tells you which color your car came with. Look under the center console for the codes? Then you need to find what they all mean to find the one that specifies top color.

I believe you could order whatever you wanted.

The tinted targa top colors were Blue, RPO 24S or Bronze, RPO 64S. Either top was a $650 option

My 1995 did not come with a factory acrylic top. There's nothing on my RPO code for an optional top.

So, when a C4 corvette was new it was an option to get a Blue or Bronze Acrylic top if the car was ordered????

Yes I believe in all cases both were available.

What interior color? Have you ever been in a car that had either? I'd say you certainly need to try both before buying.

My '96 didn't come with one either, but I found a new still in the box bronze top several years ago.

Advantage: More headroom, lighter, sorta cool to look out of.

Disadvantage: You will almost bake in the summer.
When getting in the car on a hot summer day, it is like an oven and takes several minutes for the A/C to cool it off.

I only use mine in the fall or very early spring now.
During summer months, its back to the sold top.

My 1995 is Torch Red with Black interior. I never been in a C4 with the Bronze or Blue. That's why I'm asking. My C5 has an OE and it's a bluish/grey color from inside. Looks black from the outside.

An OE C4 with a "blue tint" is BLUE - since the top is done by other than OE and I've never looked at a CC top you might ask if it's a blue as in OE or maybe a later blue/gray which is very common in later production "all manufacturers".

Not looking at the CC top I'd maybe see what's available local before buying. An OE/GM can be identified by year from a VIN derivative on the side rail header on the left front. I'd shop first "for sure".

mine came with a blue top and you are right about summer beating down on you head, i have the black insert which i keep installed,, very nice and saves my bald head... also on a not so hot day it can be removed to enjoy the extra light.

So, since your car didn't originally come with a clear top you should feel free to get either color... I recommend the blue.
