Default No A/C or heat

My 93 coupe's air conditioning system no longer blows cold air. The system is charged and there are no apparent leaks. Also, there is no heat either. Again, no leaks. The fan operates but only blows air, neither hot or cold. The car has RPO C68 Electronic Air Conditioning Control.

Any suggestions?

thanks

Yes watch this video which is the best I have seen to date which takes you into the C68 diagnostic code procedure and has a portion that shows in the Factory Service Manual (FSM) what the codes mean. I suggest this would be a good place to start. GC

if you don't find the problem by the above video, sometimes if you just disconnect the battery and reconnect it will reset the system.

Just did the check as in the video; got a code 09, Low Refrigerant Detected. Still doesn't explain why there's no heat but since I don't use the car too much in the winter that's not a real concern. Now all I have to do is hope to find an A/C shop that can refill an R-12 system.

It might be might be a plugged heater core. I would flush it and look for leaks or bypass if not needed.

Any idea if the procedures in the video would apply to a 1986 Corvette?

That diagnostic procedure applies to 1990 and later.

For earlier cars, see this:
