My 1987's PO hand painted the rear emblem black. The paint job sucks! What were the original rear emblem colors for a maroon (dark red) c4? I actually wouldn't mind an all black one but this one will need replaced....

A code 74 emblem would be a 14094262 and there seems to be an NOS available on eBay using that as a "search" - many confused the color names and that appears to be what likely happened to this eBay offering. Someone made a bad guess. The snapshots are poor, the part # is correct and the emblem looks to be OK but it is a POOR SNAPSHOT!!

Make sure your car is an original code 74 - maybe the car was "other than" a code 74 and the PO painted the car and the DRM isn't maybe correct.

Use the part # and the search on eBay after you confirm the SPID on the car and the paint!!

Correct emblem edge would be "car color" and the "font" in your case would be black.

For some reason, many of the big parts suppliers don't have these emblems in very many colors. Try www.keenparts.com though. They have them. I got one for my Dark Red Metallic 88 from them, and it looks great.
