Default $2016 C4 Supercar! (cursed car reborn)

This particular car was purchased back from the insurance company after being declared "totaled".

Whoever had stolen the stereo (probably the same person anyhow) had come back and tried to steal the motor, cut my radiator and AC connections, took all my charge piping, and were trying to cut the wiring harness with (my guess) a sawzall, woke up the neighbors and ran off.

They figured the value to be about $6000 or so, with $3500 in "prior damage" from a previous incident/s (stereo stolen, targa top ruined, dash and door panels torn apart and some slight fender damage) that had never been repaired.

They wrote me a check for just under $2000, they would not take in to consideration my pro-charger, after market intake, ect.

So, I got it back for a little less than $600. then they raised my insurance $50 a month to over $2500 a year.... Currently paying $178 a month for PLPD with comp!

It is also probably worth mentioning that the car had not been driven in about three year's and the tires were all cracked and I was worried about damaged seals.

I took off the pro-charger, and the intake, sold the head unit and brackets for $900 and the runners for $250. I was planning on parting the rest of it out before I realized that it would become nearly a full time job to do so... and I would make more money going to work!

I put the stock intake and chip back in, and put it up for sale for $2500, didn't get any serious offers, some one came to look at it one day and it wouldn't start.

One guy offered me $1000 because he was sure he knew what the problem was, came out with a bunch of resistors, thinking it was a VATS issue, but he failed.

Did a phone consult with a corvette mechanic, he recommended I change the fuel pump, I did so,even though the old walboro only had about 5000 mile on it... no luck.

I had kicked around putting an LS motor in the frame after parting it out as a project with the local school, so I got a hold of the shop teacher and decided to go ahead and leave the L98 in and proceed.

It sat for a couple weeks before I had the bright thought of putting my custom chip back in and surprise! it tried to start! So I decided it was indeed a Vats issue.

Couple days worth of research and I figured out it was the door lock sensor. I "borrowed" a sensor from another car, put the stock chip back and left the sensor unhooked, I started driving it the next day.

Total Investment $600 so far
Drove to Milwaukee to pick up a rear spring (mines shot) got the front and rear spring plus sway-bars and some other misc parts (that I may not need) for $50 They are fairly high mile, but look in good shape.
brining the total to $650

Drove to Minneapolis to pick up a turbo kit a couple weeks ago,
Not sure If I am going to be able to use it now, but it was a CX racing kit, set for 16 pounds ( I was only going to run 6 or 8)

Im not sure if I am going to use it, due to some recent developments, but I will Include the price here for reference, will post pics later if we actually think we are going to put them on the car.

Price, $750
Bringing the total to $1400

Yesterday I did something Bi-polar, and purchased a used complete Holley Stealth Ram, 300+ Accel box, blaster coil and Small cap distributor. $400 shipped.

The plan was always to go HSR OR turbo and try for 450 HP to the wheels, now I have both...

The HSR however is reported to be set up for a 1206 gasket, and the 113 heads may not be able to match, it was advertised as needing the 1206 gasket, and I just didn't take it into consideration.

It "looks like" I can match the heads to a 1205 gasket, and install the intake. it wont be optimal, but it should work. I do not actually have the intake in hand yet, so I cant tell for sure.

Bringing the total investment so far to around $1800 Including both the turbo and the intake/ignition.

For reference, here is the info from the rebuild in 2011

Bored .030 balanced
full recon on heads 2.02 stainless 1.6 ex 3 angle bowlhawged valve job
milled .0019
103523750571 eagle crank
sir7000bblw eagle full float rods
h90cp 0.30 speed pro pistons 9.5-1
08-5032-8 comp roller cam
2148 roller lifters prw roller 1.5 rockers
direct fit headers
New stock radiator, water pump and most of the sensors.

Trans was rebuilt and beefed up at the end of 2011, and again in 2012 if I remember correctly, after TWO unfortunate instances with the Trans cable being improperly set by an idiot blew up TWO transmissions and started the car on fire!

Car was rear ended shortly after I had the procharger p600b installed and then sat for three years as I was never able to get the tune quite right.

In that three years, it suffered three separate instances of vandalism/theft only the last was covered by insurance.

Target budget is $2017, but I can sell unused pieces to recoup up to $1008.50
So I have roughly
1208.50 left to spend
Definitely need a different cam, a cage, and some misc components.
I am definitely tempted to run both the HSR and the Turbos assuming I can get them all in the car on budget.

I also picked up a blower works meth injection

system for $200 shipped, and a used set of forged pistons with rings for $150.

But using them would put a huge dent in my remaining budget.

Zombie thread... So, I ended up having to sell my project, but it looks like I have a shot at buying it back with the addition of a few new (to me) parts.

Buying it back is probably not the smartest thing to do... But it was originally my "divorce" car and I think I'm going to go for it.

Well, the paint and interior are mostly junk, there is some body damage the targa is broken, the radio and part of the dash are missing and the key is stuck in the ignition not to mention a couple scary melted looking wires in the engine compartment...

But it's got a straight frame, fairly tight suspension only 10-15k miles on a new motor and trans plus a big pile of parts.

Currently it needs the throttle body and fuel lines installed and then it should still go around corners at 30mph in a sideways orientation.

The engine is a mild 383 with upgraded valves a Holley stealth ram and red top injectors, a walboro 255 pump and a kirban adjustable regulator.

The pile of parts includes steel for a bar/cage a turbo with most of the cold side including an intercooler and all of the hotside. There is an old blowerworks water meth injection system and a procharger FMU plus whatever parts he picked up for it after he bought it from me.

The biggest drawbacks (for me) are cam is tiny and the stock heads are restrictive. I'd like to swap those out eventually, for the moment though, I think just finishing the intake swap and driving the crap out of it is the main priority!
