How rare is the car I'm looking for?
So many of you know i'm working toward's a 1989 6 speed, now if I were to want to get this car with white exterior, black interior (i'd prefer cloth seats but that'd make it even rarer) how rare of a car is this? I know there was about 4 thousand manual's made in 1989 and 5 thousand were painted white.
Basically:
How many were white with black interior?
How many were white with black interior and a 6 speed?
How many had all that with the Z51 suspension?
I think i'm looking for maybe 1 of roughly 500-1,000 cars that left the factory, would that be a good guess? Can't seem to find good enough information.

Even if you found this "rare" combination, it would not make it worth any more

It looks like a very clean car. What do you think is a fair price for what is probably 1 of few hundred? It is a car go see it and make an offer. Buying cars is not like buying a loaf of bread with pay the number or leave it on the shelf. I find it funny everyone buying a car thinks the car over priced and everyone that makes an offer a low baller.

If you actually have 6500 and certainly seems like a fair price offer it to him and be honest and say that is all you have. Nothing ventured nothing gained.

Of the 16663 coupes built. White was fairly popular 3220 coupes - 2nd most common color, 2224 total Z51s and most will have 6 speeds. A total of 871 black cloth interior as you knock the production numbers down and figure on 50% lost over 28 years the rarer the car gets and a knowledgeable owner maybe less likely to negotiate.

Been there. Couple of years out of college I bought a used 78 Vette with 14,000 miles in 79, my first. Wasn't a good mechanic and the car starting having issues and this was on top of payments. I had to let the car go in late 1980. I had to drive a 80 Monte Carlo for 2 years. I made up my mind to get another Corvette in 82. By then my mechanic skills had improved. I found a nice 76 that a woman had traded in on a new 1982 at a dealership. A 76 was not my ideal choice but it was a Corvette. I drove that 76 for 13 years before I moved to C4 world. My advise is take your time, keep looking and when your ready buy the nicest Vette you can afford. Then hang on to it. Being without a Vette for 2 years sucked, bad.

I agree with the advice to be patient and keep looking, but I also think that a bit of compromise isn't a bad thing. In my case, I wanted a low mile 88 coupe, black with black interior, manual with leather seats, fairly original and wanted to pay around $7,500 (about 10K Oz Pesos). I came to the US for 5 weeks and drove 9K miles looking at about a dozen cars, but couldn't find exactly what I wanted.
In the end I compromised and bought the best car that I looked at....88 coupe, 1 owner, 39K miles, manual with black interior for US$8K. The problem is that it has cloth seats and it's metallic red, but I've bought a set of leather seat covers and I like the colour pretty well, it's just that my last 2 cars were red, but I'm happy to drive it as is for a while, and if it cops a bit of damage or wear and tear then I'll paint it black.

If you're looking for rare this car isn't close.
Rare is the R9G. That may be the best for long term appreciation.
Then we have the Grand Sports.
They've always been special.
I'm also big on the B2K cars. They usually outpace the ZR1.

I'm not looking for a rare car, that's not my goal, it just happens to be that the car I DO want is a rare, low production numbers car, I know it has nothing to do with value, I just want the car I want
