Default Interior Door sill upholstery - Choices, options, alternatives

Has anyone reupholstered these sills? Sould i just bite the bullet and buy the chrome sill guards that cover up the whole thing??

I picture a vinyl or leather wrapped but i imagine that would cost big money

Mine are a bit tired looking. I tried scrubing them and chunks of fur started falling off lol

Just get some matching carpet use the old one for a pattern and have the binding done. Be more careful smoking.

Default Fur?

Chunks of fur came off?

It's carpeting isn't it?

I believe you can buy a pair of the pre-formed carpet pieces from the catalog houses like Corvette Central, etc..., for not too much money.

All that carpet is firmly glued to the plastic door sill. Be careful pulling the carpet off. It is best to glue the top first and then do the sides and ends after the top has had a little time to set. I used 2 -5 gal. buckets (upside down) and a 2x4 you can't see under the carpet to help my molding process.

Not pretty but this did work.

I'm in a similar position. I've thought about doing something fancier than carpet, but I dunno. I figure if I have to glue carpet in, paying 90 bucks for pre-cut carpet seems excessive.

Thank God mine are plastic. I think going to carpet was a bad idea on GM's part.

Dt86, you are correct. The carpet wears down on the top surface with the opening and closing of the door just behind the emergency brake cover.

Is there a door sill plate protector that covers the entire area? The one that NiteriderFRC has leaves the back side un-protected.
