Nippondenso starter on L98
Hey guys, I'm looking for a mini starter for my L98, 1987, to fit with my headers! I'm having trouble finding information on this nippondenso, does anyone know if this starter would fit well? It's being sold by another member and is at the link below! The part number is, 10455703
any help would be awesome

I have one that should fit. It's for an L98 so I can't be certain. Message me for the details.

Regarding the label - it ain't OE and if I were shopping I'd look elsewhere. I believe a correct 'denso reference is 128000-811 and NOT the one used on the label. I'd say a "knock-off" MAYBE!! If you were to buy this or any other 'denso be aware that the thread specifications for the starter are Metric (M5X.80 & M8X1.25

**** I'd think this is likely an offering similar to the "for sale" but if the "for sale" had a couple more images the correct switch/terminal adapter is likely already attached.

I used this Summit Racing starter on my '87 when I installed Hedman headers.
It worked fine and was a true plug and play installation. I did not need to modify anything. The OEM battery positive cable was the right length, the ignition side wires were the right length and easily attached to the solenoid studs.
This starter comes with bolts and it is "clockable" so that you can turn the solenoid to gain any extra clearance.

"rfn26" seems to have a correct for L98 starter motor. If you use the older L98 original OE/GM SPO # 1998578 to research it I believe his is correct and there's no terminal adapter required for '88 - '91 L98. The terminal adapter might make the install easier ... I've no idea.
There are several "after-market" vendors who sell this as NEW but these are NOT NIPPONDENSO builds but only referenced as a 'denso style build.
The starter "c4cruiser" & "Tom400CFI" reference is certainly used by many. The vendor they reference is only a reseller so unless there's a better warranty from them I imagine there's much better pricing available. I believe those are generally referenced as Hitachi. A friend here hasn't had the same service that's been mentioned from 2. He paid for one and the 2d was a warranty replacement. 2d failure he was credited towards another buy. I believe he bought a PG260.
OP - if you use 128000-495 or the 1998578 is search options there's many options out there for a 'denso style.

I used a planetary gear drive starter on my L98. Next time I'll go with the 153 tooth flex plate. Just took a bit long to bring the engine up to speed before catching fire.
