Update: I got both heads removed. Didn't check valves guides on the other head as I had an engine machinist waiting.

Unfortunately, I don't know what do about my serviced heads. Machinist from drop off to done kept saying: "Hey, hey, the heads in great shape. Oh, there's oil on your valves, but hey, hey kael, new seals will take care of that." A call after the heads were done didn't make any progress.

Now I feel stuck, suppose I go and do a 'get me your manager' or something. It's a one man service department, how do I know he'll do a good job after that? Sounds like I'm screwed, pay the $$$ and move on.

Yeah, I was confused too. Here's what i heard today while calling to say I will be picking them up shortly:

"Oh Hey, hey Bill, I also have three valves for you."
"Uh, sorry?"
"Oh, hey, three of the valves were worn. Forgot to mention that to you."

Yeah, found a place I won't goto again.

so they checked the deck and it's straight, and they replaced your bad valves? Sounds like you're good to go.

Yeah, after the "cool off" period, I understood.

They must call us "Vette Drama Queens" when we leave the shop.

Final Update:
Yeah, been a few years. At one point, 2018 maybe, I noted if I put a new plug in #2, I could drive 100 miles before it fouled and use zero oil over that time. Well, I got lazy and limited drives to 100 miles. Many drives.

Eventually broke down and decide it was time for a rebuild. Some recommended chasing a ring job might work, but I wanted to get the rest of the block addressed. And, I'm happy I did, engine feels young again!

So, the key problem: PO
Some previous owner (dealer?) DID do a ring job. All cylinders or just one, can't confirm. But, the clear problem was simple, they put the wrong oil ring on #2. It was very worn when I could finally look at it and obviously not the same design as the rest. It was leaking a tiny bit of oil into #2, not enough to make white smoke but enough to eventually foul the plug and make it worse (no combustion pressure == more oil bye bye).

So, finally, Her engine is good and working great now! Had the fun of meeting a Happy Hooker, a shop crane and what an engine looks like hanging in the air of my garage!

Hope this helps someone some day!
