I have a hard time just reaching back to get the seat belt let alone try and get anything out of my pockets.

always had trouble in my 94 getting stuff out of my pockets. but one nice thing about having a base car with manual seat tracks behind the shift console is a little storage area to put odd things in while driving

Safety Car
Or do like I do. I was in an accident about 20 years ago and did some spine and nerve damage so I can't sit on a wallet etc. I use what in essence is a fanny pack. Before I get into the car, I just unbuckle it and toss it onto the top of the console.
Doesn't help with the front pockets, but the wallet, checkbook and cell phone are in easy reach.

I simply always take my pants off before I get in. That makes it alot easier to reach the pockets if needed. Just no one will ever ride with me.
