Not sure how close your LT1 is to my L98 SBC weight wise, but my LQ9 (iron 6.0L engine) is around 100-150lbs lighter than my L98. I own a 85 C4 L98 base car.
I own a 2016 silverado, man that direct injection 5.3L engine feels pretty strong almost makes me think its a 6.2L
So far my swap has been pretty easy, the worst part is all the electrical.

The new 5.3L motor is rated at 355HP, but feels stronger. I had a 2014 GMC 5.3L, the chevy is faster. The only difference is the gmc had 20in wheels, the chevy has 18in
I'm surprised how good the new 5.3L are. I idle the engine all day long, cold or hot outside. The motor gets decent fuel mileage for what it does.
My LQ9 is stock, except for the intake, headers and injectors. Not sure on what my engine build is gonna be right now. I have 2.73 rear gears, 700R with a shift kit, stock converter. Gonna try it as is for this year.
