Default Fellas, I have gone astray

I have been looking for months and finally found a C6 that fit all the right requirements and picked it up yesterday. An '09 Z51 44K on the clock with 3LT trim, I must say what a car! I am quite happy bring her home and park it next to the '96.

Nice color, and you find out, it's thrill to drive, I never get tired of driving mine.

The 96 looks to be lower and wider in that picture. Is that the case?

Inquiring minds want to know...

I picked up a 2006 back in July and love it. Still enjoy the 95, but two different animals.

Took it up to Sears Point Raceway in January...

Cut my teeth on in and with the 95...

Bought my 95 convertible almost six years ago. Bought my 08 coupe a little over two years ago. Both corvettes, but the difference is night and day. I chose my 95 to drive most often, it's more like a jet fighter cockpit and is fun to drive around town. The 08 is my car I take on trips and when I feel the need to be pushed back into the seat leaving the stop lights, the torque from that LS3 is enormous.
Love em all though.

The 09 surely looks wider especially from the inside, the 96 looks to have more room vertically in the storage area, will know when I put the golf clubs in.

At this point I would rather drive either than work on them so I wanted something a little newer with less miles to take on trips, spring can't get here soon enough!!

That happens the older you get. It gets harder and harder to get under a car and it's less of a desired state to spend money on parts you broke racing (etc.) vs. taking that money and enjoying it with someone you care about. Some say that's being cheap, I say it's maturing.

As someone with both (13GS & 89 Vert) I love both cars, but they are very different. The GS has so much raw power, while the Vert is a great crusing car. Good luck, enjoy your new ride !

You haven't gone astray. It's natural evolution for "most" Vette owners. I've owned my 88 C4 for 22 years. During that time I owned a new 07 for 6 years and then traded the C6 for a 2015 C7. Love them both.

FWC, congrats on an beautiful addition! The gray wheels look really nice with the black exterior.

Is the C6 “quieter” than your ‘96 when it comes to road noise?

Nice looking C6. LS3 and Z51 with a great color combo. You're going to love driving it.

Had2hav2, just kidding since we C4 owners are a prideful bunch I wouldn't want anyone to think I dislike the 96 anymore, although my gf moved on the second she got in the new one.

B17, I am not sure on the wheels I really like the C6 GS style chrome rims and may replace them someday. Yes it is much tighter and quieter even driving in the cold and on run flats.

Thank you for the feedback, the C6 in an incredible car, there is much to like about them. Can’t go wrong with the GS wheels, they would look sharp too!
