Default C4 Knowledge Requested on Admiral Blue Cars

I have my mind set on a '96 6 speed LT4 C4. I have the wife nearly talked into it but she's decided that Admiral Blue is the color she would want if we pull the trigger. I'm partial to black, the that color blue is appealing to me too. Were any Admiral Blue Vettes made in '96 that weren't Grand Sports?

Nope only the GS cars had the admiral blue in 96.

I wish they made a non GS admiral blue '96 too.

They did make admiral blue non GS cars in '94 and '95. It is one of my favorite colors. (I had an admiral blue '94 M6). They are quite similar cars with just a little less power.

Although I like the LT4 better than the LT1, the LT1 is still a good motor and with some mods can run better than a stock LT4.

I also like the LT4 and currently have a '96 CE LT4.

Good luck with your search and choices.

My '94

94 Admiral Blue here, love the color. At first I wasn't sure, but it's so deep and is simply electric in the sunlight.

You're wife is making a great move by forcing you to get A B. It is one of the best colors for the C4. A lot of ppl on the forum agree.

I liked the blue so much, I skipped on a LT4 so I could get an affordable AB C4 (94 6 speed). Couldn't afford a GS or AB ZR1. AB ZR1 are like endangered species anyway, almost never for sale

If I could've found an AB with a manual, I'd have bought it over my red LT4. I absolutely love that color.

Here's a picture of my '96 LT-4 in black with GS stripes. Looks sinister if you ask me.

You can't go wrong buying a GS. They may cost a little more than the average C4 but the gap will only increase as time passes.

Do it now an you'll never regret it.

btw - I still think the LT4 was the best engine. I've always liked it better than the ZR1.

It's the color you're looking for and it's the end of the C4 run. It boasts all the improvements of the continued development of the platform.

I have to disagree with you here. The GS is the Gen 4 version of the Gen 3 Pace Car - a paint and tape special. If anything, the engineering of the LT5 in the ZR-1 is what will drive future market performance. It is true of every other generation where performance and engineering trumps all else. The LT4 is a nice engine, but it just does not have the feel of the LT5 at the upper end.

I would say the LT4 is more important but you know what they say, happy wife happy life. Honestly I like pretty much any color the car comes in, and I feel like you would both end up loving it in pretty much any color. Don't forget about the sebring silver metallic on the Collector Edition. The CE's may fetch a little more but they much more attainable compared to a Grand Sport.

On a side not my fiance really did not want a Corvette and did not see the point. Of course after I finally pulled the trigger she was asking me all the time if we could go out for a ride

And... the CE’s come standard with the ultra comfortable & supportive Sport Seats rather than the base seats. They’re a nicely packaged C4.

Go buy a Grand Sport, you won't regret that.

Admiral Blue is the prettiest blue ever put on a car to me. When I get a C7, its going to be AB.

Not totally sure but the AB on the C4's is different from the C7 AB. I've seen a pic of the two side by side and there's was a difference. The AB on the C4 had more POP.
