My modified 91 is for sale at that price.

Considering something around 80% of Americans live paycheck to paycheck, I would say that someone with $3k in expendable cash lying around to buy a toy makes them richer than most.

I'm by no means rich, mind you (hence why it is a $3k C4 instead of a $30k C6), but it is simply one way to consider the state of finances.

To me a C4 is one of the cheapest summer commuter cars I can find. I commute 80 miles each way to NYC every day. In the winter itís a BMW X3 which costs costs 4x the C4. I park in an indoor garage and never get any comments on the BMW but multiple people think I must be making a ton of money to afford the C4. Makes me laugh when somebody with a 30k car says they could never afford a vette.

I paid less for my Corvette than my buddy paid for a guitar.
Difference is, I'm not afraid to take my car outside the house.

Yes - I was at a local cruise in - someone came up to complement the car. I asked how much you think I paid for it - his reply: $35K! Nice complement! I paid $10.5K!

Unless a Corvette owner people just don't know, they assume expensive

It's just that it's a real sports car and the best USA sports car's made

A few years ago, I was working at a local music school in the evenings (I taught trumpet). I had driven my red 85, which was parked out front. My student's mom walked in and said "did you win the lottery?!?" I laughed it off, but not unless the lottery was $4200, because that's what I paid for my car. I get occasional comments like that.

I mean to be fair some of the owners need to have some kind of income. Replacing old parts aren't cheap
