Vehicle speed sensor
I just bought a 1985 c4 need to get a smog check but I'm getting a code 24 vehicle speed sensor fault code. Got under it and pulled a "Delphi #10456568. Now every part's store I check tell me this part "does not fit my specific vehicle". It's a magnetic sensor. Any suggestions or is there another sensor I'm not aware of? Any help would be much appreciated.

Post up a picture of your trans. If you have that sensor it could be a T56.

I have a T56 tailhousing sitting there on the living room floor that I just verified that same part number. You probably gonna need a signal converter to make it work. Not sure if that ECM can be programmed to work with the pulse per mile the T56 delivers.

Speed sensor problem
I would like to thank corvette forum just for being there. I haven't posted anything lately about my speed sensor issue. Well it turns out my 85' has a tremec 5 speed. Does anyone have any information on tremec transmissions. Are they an upgrade? Is it a quality built transmission? And how does the speedo work on this it's an TKO 5speed. Thanks for any info in this area.

I think it's plenty strong for an upgrade.

Sound like your TKO is outfitted with the same T56 VSS as you mentioned in post #1.

You gonna need a box like the Dakota Digital to convert the 17 tooth reluctor/17 pulse per driveshaft revolution signal to the 2000ppm the '85 ECM is looking for.
