I took my Mom for a drive.
Took my mom for a drive in the vette, didn't push the car much since she was a nervous wreck just being in the car, doubt she'll ever get in the car again. Will be a nice memory in the future

Had to help her get in and out, but she went.
She also kept telling me not to go fast.
Didn't want to scare her, so it was just a gentle cruise.
Lost her in 2009, but will have the memory.

Savor those memories, they will last a lifetime. Mom never rode in mine because of health issues and Dad was gone before I bought it. Both are gone now, wish I'd bought it much sooner but hindsight is always 20-20.

Did the same w/my dad earier this year. Last time I had a Corvette it was a "TLC needed" '76, I was 20 and stupid, and it leaked trans oil all over his new driveway.
Much better experince these 20+ years later.

Glad you got to take her for a ride. Great memories.
I lost my parents a few years back, but some of my best memories have to do with them riding in or driving in my cars.
Edit:
When my mom drove mine, she wasn't used to having power and a manual transmission. When she started from a stop light, she spun the tires pretty good. She didn't realize what she did and said "Ooooh, What is that noise". When I told her she had a huge grin.
I used to take my dad out on Sunday mornings to get a newspaper at a local drug store. We we were leaving the store, I hit it and spun the tires hard in 1st gear, then hit it and spun hard in 2nd gear, then hit it and spun hard in 3rd gear, then shifted to 4th and shut down. I told him that if I got the new cylinder heads I wanted I could do that in 4th gear too. I knew that he enjoyed that ride. Later that week he loaned me the money for the new heads.

My mom's losing her mind and her health. She hates crawing into the car, but when I can get her in, she loves the drive. Not too much cornering, but she loves the 2nd and 3rd gear pulls Trying to enjoy whatever time we have left with her.

mom and dad were gone when I got mine. My wife loved ridding in it and was a bit afraid to drive it tho she did once for about 30 miles. It was when I bought it and she followed me home, her driving it. She would fall way back, then cATCH BACK UP IN A BIG HURRY. I teSED HER ABOUT DOING IT ON PERPOSE but she never admitted to it ,lol. I lost her on fri the 13th, the day b4 Valintines day.. cancer. its a great memort ans she is pictured at the wheel of the vette. She wanted to name the car "corrie". I said no way. The name is now corrie. For you others driving mom or dad aeound.. don't forget to give your kids a memoryof you and them in it.

My 85 year old father rides with me once in a great while. His remarks are this is supposed to be a fun car? Then he just gives me a grin. He has advanced Parkinson's which makes it difficult to get out. Yet he asks to take the vette every so often. My oldest grand daugfhter had her iPod stolen at a park the other day. I drove over in the vette to help look for it. She was in tears when we were about to leave but she wanted to ride home in the vette.

I took my dad for a ride a short while ago, the first thing he said when i fired it up "what's wrong with it, why does it sound like that?"
Then i took off with the wheels spinning....
I don't think he likes my car...
I won't give my mom a ride until i have a volume control for the exhaust...

I would like to get my mom in mine to go for a ride but I don't think she would be able to get in and out of it. always wanted to take my brother that was in a wheelchair in it he was a good size man couldn't figure a way to get him in or out he passed away a couple of months ago. take my two grandkids in it quite often the girls 6 the boy is 11. when I first bought it a few years ago it was right before thanksgiving so with family around I just give anyone that wanted to drive it the key and let them go. wife drives it once and awhile, my girls drive it a couple of times a year usually when we take more than one car to a car show or cruise-in.

I take my Mom for rides whenever I can. Shes 72, still works five days a week, and loves when I pop the Targa and head to the country.
Ive always been accused of being a "Mommas Boy", and I wear the title proudly.
When I was very young, Mom often had my Uncles 1965 Ford Galaxy rag top that he swapped in a 427 and a four speed.
You might say I was corrupted at a very young age.

I'm surprised we made it this far without anyone asking for pics of mom. Lol.

Cool stories everyone. My parents are not to old so they have both been in the corvette many times and my wife and I have had many cruises together.
My father and grandfather have worked on the corvette with me many times as well.
The special memory for me though is with my grandfather. He was a retired mechanic and still tinkered with cars into his early 90's. He once came out to an autocross with me at around 93 years of age and rode around the course once, he was always a good sport. Unfortunatly we lost him about 5 years ago to an infectious disease he cought while visiting a hospital.
I've been blessed to have so many memories with them all.

My mom loved adventure - quick to ride in any conveyance my bros and I came up with: motorcycles, hot-rods, zip-lines...you name it. Her passing was the inspiration for getting my first C4. I know she would have loved it. My dad, on the other hand, wanted NOTHING to do with riding in it...ever. (Prolly cuz mom WOULD HAVE!)
My wife Ami has a streak of mischief in her - one of the many things about her that attracted me to her. She has her own Vettes (yes plural!); a 69 Vert, and a tricked out 91 ZR-1 (roll-bar, diffuser, cammed, 5-point safety harness...You get the picture).
Anyway, she took her friend Linda for a ride in the Z. Linda's daughter mounted a camera on the windshield to get her mother's reaction. I'll post it if I can get a chance. Oh, it is worth seeing!!

Took my Mom to meet my aunt from out of town for lunch. About an hour each way, and she really enjoyed it, said it's her first ride in a Corvette.
I also gave her her first ride on a Harley, both on my Wide Glide and my Street Glide. She used to ride with my Dad on the Gold Wing, but she thought the HD rides were special.

Mom for drive
Lost both my parents early, But my Mom did NOT like riding in my 396 Chevelle...Best one I had was taking my tree hugging oldest brother who owed a Prius for a ride to get ice. He asked to drive back....Made me smile
