Tinted Tail Lights?
Does anyone here have their tail lights tinted? I've been looking through the forums using the search and can't find anything regarding EARLY C4 tail lights, I see some covers that use double sided tape (the only two I can find have poor reviews) but can't seem to find anything besides that, I personally think the tinted tail lights on a white corvette look awesome. Any information is appreciated, show pics if yours are tinted

I've thought about the paint but it'd be pretty hard to do on these tail lights unless I take them out which seems pretty difficult to do.

arent there laws against that? the lens needs to, by law, remain "reflective" referring to the prismatic lens design. tail lamp covers and such are for show or off-road use both which dont fall under normal motor vehicle operation standards. with all that said...i've been wondering about a tint on the inside of the lens?? or is that what you are talking about?
i'm curious about this topic as well since i've researched it before and would consider it if it were lawful. i assume the laws may vary from state to state as well...

Sure they look good. But the person who just rear ended you is going to say " I didn't see his brake lights come on". Guess who the blame gets shifted to?

The lenses i've been looking at claim that they give a nice tinted look, but once on the brakes they really don't block much light going through. I obviously wouldn't want the car to be dangerous, but these tail lights are brighter then most tail lights on cars on the road, from what i've seen anyway.

I would be interested to see what tinted tail lights look like on an early C4 also.
I could see them looking very nice on a white C4 like Brandens.

There is a spray can product called "night shade" that I have used and like. Yes, I put it on the inside. You determine how dark or light it is by the number of coats you put on.

If I were driving down the interstate in fog or mist, I would want the brightest taillights as possible so the 18 wheeler behind me has a better chance of seeing me. Don't really care how "cool" it looks in the daytime.

Branden, make sure you post some pics of the process if you go through with it...i'd be curious as to how this works applying to the inside of the lens and also how dark you went (or how many coats you did).

If I could find a good thread on how to remove the early c4 lenses that would help a ton, I can't find any information on actually removing them, only changing the bulb from the inside. If I do this with a spray i'll make sure to make a thread on it, showing each coat and how dark it is.
