Default C6 seats to C4

Picked up a nice set full power leather seats, but the front mounts are a few inches ahead of the ones in the C4, Does any one know what drill size to cut just the rivet out under the seat rails. Im thinking I can drill them out and either bolt them back on backwards or slide them back and weld them.

Default Update

Got the brackets cut off (21/64 drill) and temperary bolted. slide them in the car and I was right, went right over the bolts.
Had to bend the brackets a little, as you can see they are not flat with the floor. Just put them in a vise and hit them with a BFH 3 or 4 times. Now just need to wire them to the car.

Cool! I would love to see pics and a description on the wiring process when you get done.

Pass side is in. very comfy. but ran into problem on driver. Cant get motors to run. On pass, I connected to the red and black and good to go. On the driver nothing. There is another connector the pass doesnt have. Does anyone know if I need to do something in this connector to get the motors working?

Default seats in

Got them both in today, Had to tap into the motor connector on driver to move the seat. So I guessing a bad switch. I set them where I need them for now.

Are they easier to get in and out?

Nice work, but what made you switch? The c4 seats are WAY better than the basic c6 seats IMO, and I've had 2 of those C6s. The 2012+ c6 seats are better, but not as good as the c4 seats IMO.

About the same, the seats are abit flatter, but feel an inch or two higher. I havent measured, just the feel.
I was going to try and run power today. but I have a bad back and just putting these in this week. I can barely move today.

This is your opinion. I personally think the C6 seats are WAY better than my base C4 seats. In reality if the C4 seats were so great why did they design the C5 and C6 seats? They could have just modified the C4 seats to be fancier if they were so great.

Putting C6 seats in a C4 is a cool idea, my current sport seats need refurbishing and there are a few sets of C5 and C6 seats on my local craigslist for cheap.

I have always found the C4 seats very comfortable and they also hold me in place very well. How do you like the C6 seats are they comfortable to sit in for long durations? Do they hold you in place well?

Interested to hear how they compare to the C4 seats.

Just finished putting them in, starting the wiring, The pass seat will be easy. but I think the switch in the driver is bad. So will need to replace that. Then hopefully wiring that one will be easy.

Still need to do the AC and exhaust, one pipe is crushed. So when I get it all done I will see how they are with some time in the seat.

Thinking of running a positive off the battery, and using the seat bolts as ground. Running the positive into a small aux fuse box, then to the seats. Everything under the console. Will need to find somewhere for the fuse box that will be readliy accessable. found a box on ebay for around $12 bucks, has four fuses. Leaving me two for future possiblities.

Mine came out of a 05. I didnt like that the C4 seat bottom had such high sides. The seats that were in the car when I bought it were trashed, the PO put seat covers on them to cover them up. So I thought if I was going to spend $500 plus on seats I might as well get something with power and better seats. Paid $700 from a craigslist add.

I think the C6 seats support me much better than the base 84' seats. I never felt like the bolsters fit me. I always felt like I was sitting on top of the seat and not being hugged by it. (I'm also not a tank either) Regardless the C6 seats seem to hold me better. I feel the bolster support better. Neither seat is perfect but I like the C6 seat WAY more than the C4 seat personally. But again it's all subjective.

I think that part of the issue may be the comparison of early C4 sport seats or even the base seats to the C6 seats vs. late model C4 sport seats 94-96 to the C6 seats.

Having put over 100K on the 95 sport seats, 50K on 04 sport seats and several multi hour drives in several C6s and an hour long ride as a passenger in a C7, I still say that the late model C4 sport seats are overall the most comfortable for long drives than the seats in any other generation of corvette.....and they don't tend to hinder your exit from the car as much as the earlier sport seats do... but I also have to say that to have a set of those seats recovered in a first class manner in OEM quality covers is not inexpensive.

So if C6 seats will fit and can be made to work in a C4 I think that's great. Please let us know what its like once you get the car back on the road
