i need a scanner!!!
whats a good code reader on the cheap? i just picked up a 92 and i bought a 95 last summer so i wouldn't mind scanning codes myself instead of dropping $20 each time.

I am sure you have noticed the ECM on the 95 is sealed. The 92 has a removable PROM. You can program the 95 with a computer from the plug. Not sure about the 92 the prom can be removed and reprogrammed and replaced, not sure if you can program the 92 through the plug.
I would recommend a BOSH http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0664&ppt=C0103.
However it may be above what you want to pay. Good luck.

I've had an Innova scanner now for about 3-4 years. I don't see the one I have but it looks similar to this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Diagnostic-S...UAAOSwIgNXm6~s
I've used it on both ODB1 & 2 vehicles and it's worked just fine.

I just needed a code reader for the C4 We just picked up. I ordered this one for $23. Still waiting for it to arrive. https://m.summitracing.com/parts/INO-3123

Here is the issue. The code doesn't tell all. Also the ECM is not very sophisticated as people think. It is better to get data streams and see what is going on. Most people seem to think that if they are in trouble, there must be a code. Not always. That is why I pay more for a scanner.

You can use a Snap On MT2500 on both cars. I bought one off of ebay. You just have to make sure it comes with the cartridges and connectors you need. The 92 & 95 have different connections, ALDL ports.

I was looking at using an Android Tablet with either a Bluetooth or wired connector.
Found ASUS Nexus 7s for around $50 and a bluetooth adapter
Or maybe a USB cable for my laptop.
Anyone use either setup and if so what app/program.
Kind of leaning toward the tablet/Bluetooth for convenience when capturing live data

You cannot go wrong with ALDL droid, and bluetooth adapter from 1320 electronics. Especially for 100 bucks total. I'll do a thread in the near days saying how to understand, and use it. This will let you read a code while you are data logging, if any codes are active. But it mostly used for real time data.

Please do. I'm considering picking up a used android phone/tablet, dedicated for c4 data logging.
