New Guy... First time Corvette Owner... Just wanted to say THANK YOU!!!
I bought a 1994 Black Rose 6 Spd Corvette with 84K miles. I grew up being a huge Corvette fan, working on my dad's Corvettes, etc. This is my first Corvette after owning 4 Mustang GT's / Cobras.
I wanted to say thank you to everyone on this forum. This car so far has made me very happy but the story on the purchase date was definitely an adventure.
I looked at a car in Tampa FL and inspected the exterior, interior, took it on a test drive, and inspected the engine bay before running a Carfax and making the purchase. The A/C worked when I drove the vehicle and was set on 75 degrees AUTO for climate control. The owner said "We never ever touch it" and I asked him if all the other functions worked. After confirming to me three times there were no issues with the HVAC module and his wife asking me to sign a "no warranty" statement I was suspicious but made the purchase.
As the old owner honked, waived, and drove away I looked at the HVAC Module and had serious thoughts about not touching it.... I had to do it. I touched it and the AC shut off and would not come back on. None of the buttons worked. The system was stuck on a high fan setting with hot air blowing from the vents.
1. I came home and googled issues.
2. Google pulled up posts on this issue from this site.
3. I learned the module could be cleaned from this site.
4. Two hours later I had removed it, cleaned it, put it all back together, and was driving around enjoying 100% function and ice cold AC.
THANK YOU!!!!
I now research everything about the car on this forum or using the issue and "Corvette Forum" via Google search.

Congrats on the purchase, love that color, your car looks great.
You will find that the people in the forum are unbelievably knowledgeable, and that the C4 forum has quite a bit of activity.
After getting another C4 this year, trying to fix 24 years of little things, this has been an outstanding source of info. That and the Service manual, which I would suggest you try to find one if you don't already have one. Ebay has them.
Have fun with the car!

Gorgeous car - I LOVE the color...very classy. I've owned an auto 92 and a 6spd 94 - I had SO much more fun in the manual 94 - 6spd just adds so much to the overall experience in my opinion...
Best of luck with that beauty!!!
